I dont think Steve Bruce would like the current situation in Southampton. It has a feel of a club, that has lost its mojo. Too many changes in too short of a time. Its minefield for any manager coming in.
We don't know what SB is thinking. He might have had enough of The Allams (despite what he has said in public in the past). I don't rule anything out.
No we dont but is there any need to be so negative. If all we've got to go on are his public pronouncements then we have nothing to worry about. He's dead happy here.
He'll be off like a shot and good luck to him, he deserves better then having to deal with a meddling ****wit of an owner whos clearly going to attempt to derail another season with his deranged tiger bullshit. We survived by the skin of our teeth in spite of allam this season, Bruce knows it'll be even tougher next season. He'd be well advised to get as far away from this circus as possible.
Look at saints. Great season. Great players. The they get raided and sucked dry. Thats us next if we improve. Fact of life. We were a selling club. We are now a buying club. We do well and we are a selling club...
Yes done brilliant here and hopefully he will stay and it will continue, sometimes though you wonder how he could do better than last season, i know he would love to get us to mid table but with that F A cup run he must himself think how well he as done and if the opportunity came to move to a bigger club then would he take it. Like some one said earlier it all depends on how well he is getting on with the Allams behind the scenes and on a side note is this name change thing a distraction that he could do with out because lets be honest it gets on the nerves of most of us on here.
Exactly. I mean, can you imagine a fancy-dan south coast club like Southampton ever appointing a Geordie? please log in to view this image
He might well be grateful but that doesn't mean he owes us infinite loyalty. He's done a brilliant job for us (but approaching a point where he can't take us any further realistically) and deserves a crack at a top half team who can go further if he wants it. I agree with some of this but I don't think Southampton's expectations are unrealistic like the north-eastern lot. And he definitely can go wrong here. Our fans are alright when it's going well but look at the way Pearson, Barmby, other Pearson, Brown and Taylor are seen by the fans now. None of them get the recognition they deserve from us. Bruce would be the same. If he doesn't go this summer I'm sure he'll end up getting sacked by the mad bastard and some people will defend the decision and use the 'dinosaur', 'outdated' arguments you just mentioned to back it up. I think it won't be an easy job. It's a bit like Tottenham last summer. Loads of money to spend but so often teams buy a whole new team in one window and fail to get going at first. Whoever goes there could end up getting sacked by Christmas.
Well, he has history for it. SB's style of football does not fit Saints though, they will be gutted if he ends up their new manager. This is paper bollocks.
Eh? We play a similar style to Southampton, just not as well. If he went there he'd be fine carrying on playing the good football. My concern would be how well he'd spend a big budget which would be vital to that job.
⢠Bruce willing to sever ties with Hull City to replace Pochettino ⢠Southampton want to name new manager by end of next week
I wouldn't say they are a better team at present, particularly as they seem likely to lose most of what was good about last seasons team. Plus, Bruce I doubt would work in Southampton.
For Southampton would represent a step up in managerial terms. Bruce has shown he has adapted his team's playing style. The loss of players and subsequent big budget would be an opportunity to show what he knows about player worth. The on going Allam nonsense will be an unspoken annoyance. Against It's bollocks, apparently. After all, he fluked a FAC Final, despite his trademark second half season slump, he exceeded his target by one position in the table. He has a great working relationship with the owners, allegedly. He has a European campaign to plot. Anyone got anything to add, either way,? He's going no where, it's Ince coming here.
