Among all the bad news and pot-shots at our new owner (not least mine), we should acknowledge that he is attempting to do a thorough job on the pitch rather than a quick fix. This is rather bad news as it suggests he is in for the long haul. What does this bit mean? : "With rootzones now going down the next phase of development is to implement under-soil heating pipes for future use". Does it mean that we are (very sensibly) taking the opportunity to instal the hardware for under-soil heating during the rebuild, but have no plans to use it in the near future? Perhaps the expense could only be justified if we were in the Premiership or drawing larger gates in the Championship?
I read it that they were not installing a full system but later they talk about testing the undersoil system?
They will not be installing a boiler yet. But I have heard that this can be done quite easily and quickly should the need arise.
Not sure when but its ontime and i know we dont have any home friendlies booked and asked teh FA to have the first game of the season awy to give it that bit extra time
Just popped down to see Dave at the caravan park and he said him and the boys should have it finished on time . Once they've knicked some more turf from Greenwich Park
I am stuck in the Caribbean at present, so ages since I was at the Valley. Watching Bradford City today reminded me to ask how the new pitch is doing? Looks good when I watch matches online. After our win and performance yesterday I feel moved to pay RD a compliment.
This kind of news makes me think kindly re. Duchatalet... makes me think he's incompetent rather than malicious.
How green is my Valley? Very! All the brown has gone, and not a paintbrush in sight! It's been a very rainy winter too, but you'll find it's good to touch the gween gween gwass of home.
