If you had read the thread correctly, or knew anything about me in the slightest over these years, i thought it was obvious, i'm from fulwell originally. I have only ever had an sr6 or 5 postcode, why would i know about somewhere else that never mattered?
I was brought up in Selbourne street, roker and in 1964, during the Sunderland vs Man u 130,000 + era ! just imagine if we had won the 1st division at that time. Also Stan laurel's sister lived near us !.
I used to play football in marley pots on that big field. nearly got me head kicked in a few times! happy memories
Commachio - Lord of winterfell and warden of the northern. Its one city for me. If I ever ascend to power though wearside would expand and there'd be no more Tyne & wear, they can build giant glass slugs on their river banks with their own money. Anything on the wear would be wear side. Chester le street Durham all the way through crook Stanhope and to the source. Wearside ICG home of Wearside County Cricket club Wearside Cathedral (that really gets people's backs up at work :-D. Simple fact is it wouldn't be still there without our river protecting it.
One for the historians, not many people know that Sunderland originally ended in High Street East, somewhere around where the Exchange building is now, everywhere past that was Bishopwearmouth. The other side of the river was known as the Barbary Coast, and officially as Monkwearmouth . So unless your from the town end , you can't really say that your from Sunderland.
