    Morning All

With the World Cup less than a week away, I thought I would organise a thread for the tournament. Maybe even have a few predictions to get us in the mood, but please, keep all WC topics in this thread <cheers>

    My prediction are as follows:

    Winners - Brazil
    Top Goalscorer - Fred
Surprise Package - Chile, but they're loosly deemed a surprise with the line up they have.
Player of the Tournament - Neymar if Brazil win, otherwise Di Maria (looking very impressive!!)
    Englands Progress - Group Stages

Pogba for young player? I like the look of the French actually, though it is hanging in the balance with Ribery.

Surprise package Reza staying on his feet in a promising position
England humbled by Reza in the Final.

    Or alternatively

Cheers, Captain B. I haven't got a flag but I shall try to locate one. Any ideas?

Just got back from Israel. I was compiling and collating research for a well-known writer, so it was more a labour of love than work.

    It's a tough gig. :emoticon-0176-smoke

Hope you have a fantastic time, it's a great experience. During my only world cup, as a member of Ally's Army, I had the good fortune to meet my childhood hero, Denis Law. He's a lovely guy, no airs and graces, just wanted to talk football with the fans and hear what we had to say. I was unable to contribute to the discussion, because he was such a huge hero of mine I was speechless.

For the punters on here, the needy, or even the tight Jocks <whistle>, there is a great chance to make some money on England v Italy this Saturday.

It has got 0-0 written all over it.

6/1 widely available in all bookies

You can also have a bet on 'no goalscorer', which means that if the match finishes 1-0 to either side with an own goal, you get paid.

The Italian's are notoriously cagey in their opening game, and view a 0-0 in the same way that dick plumb welcomes a date with Kelly Brook <ok>

England are simply painful going forwards.

Get on, & thank me after <ok>

For me the best price of the tournament is Ivory Coast to top their group at 7/2. Uruguay -1 against Costa Rica 11/8 and -2 15/4 are ones I'm also looking at. Agree that Italy England is likely to be 0-0.

Reza scored yesterday in a friendly against Trinidad & T. (Probably meant as a cross).

He is Charlton's fourth representative at World Cup Finals. Who were the previous three?
