Global hitmaker, part of Jools Hollandâs R&B Orchestra and Hullâs very own musical legend ROLAND GIFT will be performing on Freedomâs Yellow Bus Stage, which this year will take the main stage position on Nelson Street and is programmed by J-Night (producers of Hull Jazz Festival). Other music stages are set to be announced in coming weeks so watch this space! please log in to view this image
All the bands were contacted yesterday, but they haven't announced any of them yet, all they've said so far is - MAIN STAGE all confirmed ... just waiting on a few for both Fruit Stages (6 TBC) , Newcomers Stage (4), Green Bricks (6), Folk In Hull (6) and the two Rock Stages (11) ... Hopefully ready to confirm all very soon.
Any idea what the dates of the festivals are OLM? Considering there's a lot of people who live in the Old Town, me included, you'd think the organisers would advertise it more, leaflets through the doors, that sort of thing. Apart from living in among all the history, it's these festivals on my doorstep why I love living in the Old Town.
Roland Gift ?? Never heard of him . Any chance of some Reggae / Ska bands playing at any of these events ?
One of Hulls best and his late mother used to have shop on Princes Avenue. Roland once fronted the band Fine Young Cannibals. Good stuff that he is headlining. Paul Heaton is also involved this year btw.
Saw him at one of his first gigs with the Akrilizk ( not sure of spelling but that's wrong) supporting Madness, pure class!!
Filey might have liked The Akrylykz, they were a ska band...
