It looks like we're going to lose several players this Summer, and we'll certainly want to bolster our squad in the transfer market. It's terrible to think that we're being asset stripped, but at least we might be able to give the next generation a chance to shine. Which academy graduates do you think will make the first team on a consistent basis next year?
Was going to reply with a few players I can see getting in the squad. But then saw the asset stripped part and now can't be arsed.
Ok asset stripped is obviously an exaggeration but come on, let's stick with the main topic and be proud of our youth! May as well be optimistic about something How is Matt Targett doing? I haven't heard too much of him in a while? Also Jake Sinclair - has his progress stalled as of late?
Think Targett needsd to bulk up a bit. Sinclair is an odd one. Massive prospect 18 moths ago but seems to have been overtaken by others. Next season I think Reed and Gallagher will push on with players like Hesketh and Sims knocking at the door.
Interst in Tagett for obvious reasons. Does anyone think he may be being held up a bit deliberately? Stop us flooding the markert, err I mean our 1st team, with quality young talents?
We have got some really good prospects, but I think there's people out there thinking; 'So what if Shaw, Lallana & others leave, the next batch will be just as good.' But the thing is, we could well be at the start of a very barren time regarding the youth team. We have been very blessed over the years, but there's no guarantee the next Bale, Walcott or Shaw is around the corner. Its so important that we help JWP & Chambers this coming season, because they could become the most important players we have for quite some time.
Can we have a ban on the assumption that it looks like we're going to lose several players this summer, too..?
