    Good Morning Everyone,

Newcastle are the latest club to be linked to Ross McCormack.

Surely, sooner or later the temptation of the bright lights of the Prem will be enough to tempt our talisman away!

    Why wouldn't it?

Does it look like we, with our new regime are showing the ambition needed to get into the promised land?

How much would you accept for Ross?

If he did leave, would that be the final straw?

How would you, or what would you say to try and tempt McCormack away from St James' Park?

David Haigh has spent a 17th night in jail. A close friend of his has been quoted as saying “He doesn’t blame the Dubai authorities for anything that’s happening but he does feel deeply betrayed by others who he thinks are misusing the legal system there.”

Meanwhile, A source close to Haigh's winding up petition said Cellino’s lawyers would attempt to argue that any cash given to Leeds by Haigh was “potentially proceeds of crime” in light of his recent arrest in Dubai, and would therefor not pay it.

    Song of the day anyone?

Morning all. No doubt in my mind Ross is off. He said three weeks ago he wanted to play in the PL preferably with Leeds, but they needed to show the ambition to do it next season because of Ross age. Cellino said promotion is a three year project so can't see any middle ground there. I'll reserve judgement until I see his replacement, maybe the old Becchio back for 1m or so.
Can't help thinking this stay in jail for Haigh might be a little more athan a coincidence with the timing of the winding up order at same time. Can't get my head round who's at fault for what though, far too complicated a mess for my brain to handle this early in the day

Morning Eire, agree with you on Ross. Don't think Becchio would cost 1m, surely?

    We swapped him with Morision?

Don't want Becchio back, had his chance and was found out that he wasn't good enough, his display and attitude against Barnsley meant I lost any respect I had for him. As for Ross going, I'm at the stage of not giving one, it's not going to impact on my life, it use to(because I let it) but not anymore. As for final straws, there have been so many final straws that I could open a final straw shop. I'm going to enjoy the WC and when it gets nearer to the new season then I'll start getting into it, until then I'm not going listen to rumours, lies, windups or opinions till then.
Good morning all by the way.

Morning troops. I think Ross will go, but I hope he doesn't. That said, Cellino should start any bidding war at £8m. It would cost a chunk of that to find a replacement, and I'm not sure Becchio would be the answer. Now Beckford on the other hand with the right support certainly would make up for it if we did loase Ross.

Song of the day - given that Cellino clearly works on his own - Oh Solo Mio??

Not so sure Elland. If we believe, as many seem to, that Ross is worth 8m then Becchio has to be worth at least 1m or more

Morning Shaks. You're right about the final straws. I remember thinking if Snoddy was sold, that would be the final straw for me. Im still here. Of course, as with Becchio and all the rest that left, the pr machine at the club turned them all into public enemy No1 when they left. It was never the clubs or owners fault of course

They didn't make him sulk on the pitch though. Remember Eire I don't care about PR and all that bollox, I'm a fan and I care about what goes on the pitch, I feel that these pampered overpaid prima donnas should show some respect towards the thousands of fans who shell out a lot of money to follow the team, if they want to go, get rid, but I don't want them back if it doesn't work out for them.

    Morning all <ok>

I wouldnt be surprised if Cardiff had a sell on clause for Rosco when we brought him. After all we got him at a good price.

I hope there's no sell on clause Bucks. It's not as if Ross could get in their first team. They probably just wanted him off their wage bill.

Beckford? You can't be serious <laugh> He's 30 now, never been a consistent scorer in the Championship and I don't think he's half as good as he used to be. Leave him where he belongs, in the past <ok>

6 million would get him i think but I hope he stay's. Increase wages is the only way to keep him, money is all that talks in football nowadays. If he feels Leeds aren't matching his ambition he will go! His ambition must surely to be playing Premier League and he isn't getting any younger so if he feels Leeds ambition is not to get Premier League next year i can see him leaving.

Here's a question... If you could sign one player only who you think could bring the team on a bit in terms of skill and leadership what player would you try to sign realistically?

Rickie Lambert's just been sold for £4m, we're not going to get near £8m for Ross. £5m with add-ons is the maximum IMO. And, as I've said before, I suspect he'll go. He wants to play in the Premier League while he's still in his prime and, while he would undoubtedly prefer to do that with us, we're not going up any time soon.

Simon, we're not in any rush to sell. So if a club wants him, £8m is our asking price.... or at least it should be.

I don't suppose Lambert being 32 affects his valuation, does it? Not exactly got the best years of his like ahead of him. Unlike Rossco.

Good afternoon Matt and fellow posters
Ross came for 350k I believe Hull had offered under Phil Brown a year earlier £3m so he was quite a snip but he took along time to settle I believe he will be sold for£6m as he clearly wants away house up for sale etc

    Are you sure we're not?

Ross is 27, not exactly a youngster. Also remember Lambert gets the valuation boost being an England international gives you. I wouldn't expect much more than £4m.
