Read an article on rtg, about the west ham fan getting plucked from the stands, and getting a game playing for the hammers...bloody good read,

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/sep/05/harry-redknapp-played-fan-west-ham

My point being, if it happened now, and you were that fan, how do you think you'd cope?

Which position would you hope to play in?

I think i'd probably collapse in a heap after about 5 minutes, and be ****ing aweful, trying to run up and down the left wing.

Come on in the last minute just as we get awarded a penner and smash it in the top corner, celebrate in style by jumping the barrier and running up the steps in the south stand to celebrate with the lads before going into cardiac arrest

Goalkeeper in a penalty shoot-out for me.

Us vs the Mags, FA Cup Final and I make the winning save. No pressure...............

Ok Ok, it was a bit far fetched, but I'm still saving this ****ing penalty. :emoticon-0100-smile

Mags must win at Wongadome against Sunderland to avoid relegation. It's 0-0 when Mannone gets sent off in the 90th minute giving a penalty away. On trots fatlad to make the save. <somersault>

And it's good night from them and goodnight from me! :1980_boogie_down:

I'd need at least 2 full years pre-season to avoid having a cardiac from the effort but been saying all season I could do what Jozy does for half the money so would have to try centre floor board. Mind I'd be a bit more vocal about the awful service he's had to work with for the most part! More seriously, RB was always a favourite position of mine but would settle for a spot on the bench talking behind my hand.

Hahaha great story. I have played a couple of charity games with ex pro's and was on the same 5 a side team as Ashley Williams for a while when I was in my early 20's.

The thing is its actually easier to play with good players on a good pitch than you would think. For a start when they pass you the ball its perfectly weighted and because their are no bobbles on the pitch its easy to control. 2nd they move into space so its easier to find someone to pass the ball back to.

The problem comes in trying to tackle someone? its impossible they are so skillfull you have no chance. Don't think about trying to win a header either, their timing is perfect. I remember marking Steve Claridge defending a corner praying the ball did not get aimed at him. Luckily we were at the front post and it got floated in to the back post.

I had had great days out, Big Ron was our manager one match and I got to go out on the piss after the game with Steve Walsh, Dion Dublin, Matt Murry and Paul Mcveigh

I just sat in midfield and passed the ball off straight away. Ran around a bit trying to get in the way and not look like too much of a tit.

Luckily I am quite fit as I do a lot of sports and was playing some Sat football and Sunday pub football until last year. That definitely helped.

I would just like to do the SAFC version of John Terry by donning my strip and collecting the FACup. F*ck wasting energy running about on the pitch.

I was a decent footballer in my day, but the hammer I took on my legs from playing on the wing has took it's toll. On top of that, I'm about 20kg overweight and 53 years old, so I would probably struggle badly these days..

I'd go left wing, no-one really blames you for giving the ball away as much as they would for a defender, and there's a chance to cut in and shoot. Played earlier on today with a hangover and still managed to do alright, not sure if it'd work at Premier League level like. Mind you, it does for Cattermole...
