CAbella happy with the terms apparently.... don't forget the French get taxed to high heaven.

 

If we could only have one star signing this summer it would be Grenier for me.

 

I've not seen enough of either player to judge but from what I have heard Cabella is a harder worker and gets stuck in with the odd tackle. This season Grenier has 28 league appearances, 4 goals and 5 assists. Cabella has 37 league appearances, 14 goals and 9 assists. On paper Cabella looks better.

 

Plus, Cabella plays in what is technically a weaker team. Therefore his stats are even more impressive.

 

Maybe but then you get big fish little pond syndrome too. Sometimes you take the shining light out of a lower team and they don't look all that good when tasked with competing for a berth alongside similar standard players. I do like the look of Cabella and Grenier. Grenier has a touch of class about him, seems to have time on the ball which is always a telling sign with a talented player. I'd like both, we'll probably get neither.

 

We don't need Grenier, we've got Colback. If we can tie up Ayoze Perez we won't need Cabella either. Maths is not NUFC's strong point!

He's 3 years younger too! I'm starting to wonder if were going to land him.

 

We won't get him and I'm frankly sick of hearing about it. Just tell me when he's gone elsewhere. The w**kers like to play it out like a saga.

As for Grenier the same applies but even less than most chance

I wish they would just hurry the **** up and get this over the line. We've been linked with him for nearly a year now that I can recall. According to SSN Colback and Perez will be tied up shortly at a total cost of whatever Perez's release clause is £1.8m (might be euro's...can't remember), and we're also after Gomis who is a free agent. 3 players for 1.8m and we're haggling over £2m-3m for a player we've been tracking for ages. Just ****ing pay up Ashley you fat **** and move on. 4 players for £10m roughly isn't bad going.

 

It's a smoke screen we won't sign him.

 

Give it a while and we'll be being told that Colback actually set us back £1.6billion in agents fees.

 

Cabella has been called up to the French squad so if we want him it might be an idea to get him signed up.................

Ribery out of World Cup along with a certain Mr Grenier.

Of course I'm sure we will now move swiftly to get Cabella and Grenier done.

 

For players at the World Cup we have basically one or two days left. I imagine the club want it done, but the fact he's been called up will not force Montpellier's hand, so this deal will not happen if he's off to Brazil. However, I don't think he'll necessarily shine, so it may make no difference. We're the buying club, though, so we've got no say in matters.

Grenier we may get during the tournament. His value will only decrease as other players rise to prominence during the tournament. Siem De Jong same as Cabella.

One thing's certain - David Craig will have fck all to do at SJP on the 31st August.

 

His call up us bad news for us. Likely will gain more interest. We don't compete if other teams are trying to out bid us. Personally from what I have seen he looks like could be quality. Puts himself about also which is great. Need to be tough for the prem.
