At this stage I'm resigned to losing Lala. What I would like is that he stays a Saint until the World Cup is over (so we can tell our grandchildren of the time when a Saint scored the winning goal in the World Cup final!), and that when we sell him we get a good price for him plus add-ons.

We need a manager pronto! We'll probably have a good budget for transfers but a large transfer budget does not immediately translate to success (see QPR). Also, as everyone knows we have a lot of cash and are in dire need for players, we're going to be gouged!

The team was excellent this precisely because they were a team. Some of these guys had been playing together for four or five years - the understanding was clear to see. My fear is that the replacement need to settle down fast or we're going to be in a lot of toruble next year!

Keeping Cork and Fonte on is a no-brainer. We would have been in less trouble had we sorted out their contracts earlier.

I'm not resigned to losing him. Liverpool need to make a proper offer if he thinks he has any chance of being allowed to leave. So far they haven't, so tough luck.

Fonte and Cork have to wait. The new manager may not want them.

Why is Lallana building a football pitch in his back garden if he's desperate to leave for Liverpool? Unless he's going to commute every day.

I doubt he will end up at Liverpool now. Not if you really are holding out for 30m. Even 25m was too much. Tottenham are probably stupid enough to pay more.

As we prefer to keep him, not a problem.

The student newspaper 'The Tab' has done an article comparing different universities to members of the England squad:

    "Oxford – Adam Lallana

You know that guy that went to Oxford from school? The really talented, yet endearingly unassuming one? Adam Lallana is that guy. He left for his first England squad gifted, self-effacing and likeable, but returned a changed man, just like your mate. Now all he talks about is how he has found true “intellectual stimulation” and how tough it is going to a “proper university”. Douche."

    Made me laugh

llana's neighbour is riley. the house for sale doesn't look like lallana's nor could any of that house's neighbours have been there for 20 years. Lallana's house looks to be red brick, judging by the Daily Mail photos.

incidentally, the house next to the one for sale is also for sale at 1.5m
it's got another floor and a much grander staircase.

Although the club are currently managerless, Mauricio Pochettino having been cherry-picked by Tottenham at the end of the season, Davis is confident a team who excelled last term will not fall apart.

''We had a great season and kept progressing, it went very quickly because it was so enjoyable,'' he said.

''Of course, it could be difficult to hold on to players but I'm sure the club has a plan in place to keep moving the club forward.

''We want to get to the next level and that means keeping the players we have and also adding to it.''

Not quite sure where to put this, but lifted it from an Echo piece about Rickie leaving. Steve Davis then finishes with this positive piece. Future Saints' captain ?

I think the interest in lallana is going to cool now Cesc Fabregas is available. His price is 30mil and we want 30 mil for Lallana. I dont think many would say they are on level terms vaoue wise so we may have priced adam out of the market.

I know someone who went to school with Adam (they're no longer in contact, so I'm not ITK) but apparently he was always a bit of a dick. The popular kid who looked down on people. I don't think he's the saint we all thought he was.
