Jakey boy has already said he would prefer to come to us and although admittedly not written in stone I think what the player wants certainly comes into the equation.

To be fair to the Daily Star that article was much more substantiated, there was actually a source in there, admittedly it could well be made up.

If my memory serves me correctly wasn't Amalfitano available at the start of the year for £2.5m? £4.5m just seems a lot for a player who turns 30 in March.

Bertrand seems very good value though, relatively inexperienced and still only 24!

Michael Dawson has just been on Talksport, he says he's desperate to stay at Tottenham and doesn't want a move.

I think that's a mistake and maybe you meant experienced?! Very good player Bertrand and ideally i'd like us to keep him, has played a fair few times for us and he's the sort of player who won't ever set the world alight but is very reliable. Champs league final being a good example of good this. Rarely has a poor game.

If you get him and at that price he'd be a wonderful buy for you. In fact i think the majority of players i've seen you linked with so far would do well for you.

Dawson has been the guest today on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talksport. Dawson also chatted with Huddlestone live on air and neither were saying anything about a move. Only that Dawson admitted that both of them were having lunch back in 2010 when MD got the call to replace Rio for the 2010 WC. Guess this one is a case of TWT.........

For readers of the red top papers (The Sun and Daily Star) both are saying that Hull City will land both Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea and Wba loan player from last season Morgan Amalfitano for a joint fee of £9.75m this week. Also mentioned on the SSN transfer news updates. Bertrand is also quoted as saying that he wants to play first team football and Hull will give him that chance. Nice one Jose.

Well what else would he say as this time ffs. <doh>

That he doesn't know if he features in Pochettino's plans and he hopes he does, but if not it's time to move on, it's what players normally say in these circumstances.

Correct. I thought he did a good job on the show and his chat with Tom was interesting by what was not said. Hudds says he is doing his coaching (B) badges at the moment.

Dawson staying with Spurs or leaving i suspect will depend on IF Vertongen is allowed to leave and who Poch has in mind to come in ?

This morning M Dawson was seen running down Bev Road in the rush hour for a bus and couldn't catch it.

Isn't it a bit early for Tom to be distracted by coaching badges? He's in the peak of his career.

Also, whatever Dawson said, means nowt. Unless the alternatives were a move up the table (or down to Man U) who would want to leave spurs? Besides, he's been there a long while, familiar with the place, all the staff, and full of his pals.

If it's made clear to him he's not wanted, then he'll probably regretfully look to move on. Hopefully to us. I doubt any movement on his front will be until after the WC and pocho has had a proper look at the team there in pre season.

If I were a footballer, I'd do my badges as early as I could. You never know what's round the corner, his career may be over tomorrow.

What worries me is - say Bertrand did come to us, who'd miss out? Would probably be Rosie, and that would be extremely unfair.

He'd replace Figgy and Rosie could go back to his natural position at right back.

    Yes, this.

Although it has to be said, I think Rosey actually looked more impressive on the left last season than he did one the right, specially going forward.

Aside from Jelavic and Long, he probably got himself more decent scoring opportunities than the rest of the team, he was unlucky a couple of times and really should have scored a fair few goals.

No. It would get Rosie back to right full back which is where i prefer him normally.

He wasnt unlucky just piss poor at finishing. Basic flaw in the 3-5-2 if your wing backs are out and out defenders, as Rosie is.
