Id have thought most of our signings will be coming this month, so that they have time to train before our European game. Gonna be hard with the World Cup being played (although that said Lambert is abroad and he just signed for Liverpool), but hopefully we can thrash out some early deals.

Agreed - both fees a little higher than I'd have imagined. Anyway, it's the Star so we may as well ignore it.
Finally a rumour. I'd take Bertrand. Fair price that. Amalfitano I'd have had but not at anything close to that price. I don't think he's a huge improvement on what we already have, tidy with the ball but very slow and weak from what I saw of him last season. Would have preferred Oxlade chamberlain.
If these are our first 2 then I'm more than happy, even a comment from the club on them both - looking positive
