I think you also need to consider this signing from a defensive point of view. With pace on the wings, particularly away from home, it means opposition full backs are more reluctant to bombing forward to support attacking moves, the threat of pace makes for a welcome outlet and also a defensive reprieve.
Rumour on the FRS is that we're signing Frank Noubles brother Joel, who is a 6'4'' striker at Dagenham & Redbridge
I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing McGlashan. I was disappointed we didn't sign him when he was available a couple of years ago
Seems that Ryan Innis might be comingback with a sort of hint from him on twitter.@ryaninnis. Sorry dont know how to put a link to it.Perhaps someone could oblige.?
Hmmm. Scrolled down some of the tweets. I picked out someone said on 2nd June - "happy to chat with Ryan innes in Bromley today. Have a great summer and all the best with the rehab" What's that all about?
Presumably on his hamstring injury that he pulled twice during his stay with us. It's unlikely that a pro footballer would retweet somone wishing him well in his drug rehab!!
Apparently we have agreed a deal for Dulwich and Hamlet striker Erhun Oztumer who has scored 60 goals in his last 2 seasons. Was on the books at a Turkish premier side but left as he was homesick. Quite young, but a midget at 5'3". Hess got him a trial at Burnley during the season so he knows about him. Luton and AFC Wimbledon have also agreed deals to sign him so it's down to him who he joins.
A link for the above Oztumer rumour:http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...afc-wimbledon-battle-gillingham-luton-7214885
oztumer sounds like a very good signing. might b a bit like dack though so dack might not play as often.
I remember a little inside forward for gills in 57 - 58 season. His name was Joe Hutton he was only 5' 3' and wore size 3 1/2 boots! Scored 9 in 36 games before leaving for Millwall. Small players have a low centre of gravity and often can keep their feet when others tumble (eg Maradonna) Small but bijou? We hope so.
Ryan Inniss? I know it's a long shot but clearly Taylor rates him and I can't see him having a premier league career maybe another loan but for the whole season?
I know that the Inniss rumour appeared due to his tweet and instagram picture's hash tag of #gills. He has said how much he rates the club (to McGlashan upon his signing) but I believe the hash tag may have just been down to him being in a Gills shirt in the photo. I like the look of Inniss, big and quick in comparison to what we have, it would be nice to pair up someone young with Legge. However, would the new Palace manager be so keen to release a defender to a chairman that he has such a lovey dovey relationship with? I think not. That said was Pulis in charge when we loaned Inniss out initially? If so, my entire argument above is for nothing. Hahah. P.s. gfclukey, good work on the 03:28 post, dedication to the cause.
Also, sky sports are saying that John Mousinho is about to sign for Burton Albion. It's on their transfer centre rather than having an individual article.
Pulis was in charge there when we loaned him, and it surprised me at the time, but heyho maybe Pulis considers it water under the bridge and doesn't bear grudges
