Heard it on talksport on the way back from the golf club. They set it out as signed, sealed and delivered.
Great choice for me ! Some people will look for a comparison with butterworth /Gunny, but old 3 lungs has been doing well in Scotland already. You don't need "big names" to bring success. A lot still hinges on who they can keep hold of on the playing side.
At least "three lungs" will get some fitness and discipline into the squad. I, for one, will be glad to see him return. I wonder who else will be coming in to support Neeyul.
We're he just another old boy then I'd be sceptical however has has been pointed out he's been doing a good job is Scotland as a manager would be a good foil for Adams as the number 2.
Most reports now saying done deal as he has quit and in norwich today. Not a bad number two as almost got promotion last season.
I'd forgotten he was involved with the U12's-U16's in our academy until not so long ago, so definitely someone Adams has worked with before. Somewhat odd though that our number 2 is going to be a more experienced manager (well, by a season!) than our actual manager. Hopefully it'll work well as a duo, and at least it's some evidence that our academy coaches can go on to greater things! Hopefully he knows the way Adams works so it'll be a fairly seamless appointment. Still would have perhaps liked a little more external influence, perhaps someone from abroad who could shake things up a bit, but a solid appointment I suppose. Much like the managerial appointment, hard to know whether it's worth getting excited about or not.
At least he won't stand for any slacking. The whole squad could have 3 lungs by the start of the season
A quick glance suggests he did a very good job - anyone else a bit more IKT about the Scottish leagues and able to tell us whether he overachieved with Falkirk? I think this is a good match-up. Hopefully after recent palavers we are now putting our ducks in a row
not sure what to make of all this. but its the first time in too long that I've liked anything our club have done...big fan of old three lungs but can't help but wonder why he has cut short what appeared to be a promising fledgling managerial career... ...maybe because he knows there is a chance he could be number one by xmas...
i wouldn't say he overachieved. falkirk are one of the stronger teams in the first division and should be up the top end - wasn't so long back they were in the prem
Arguably it's a bigger job despite being number two plus I think his family wanted to return to norwich.
His family never moved from Norfolk. They were planning to move North of the border in the Summer hols.
Seems like a good move to me. I suppose Culverhouse might have brought complications if he had come. Adams has worked with Holt and they should be able to move on fairly quickly. With things seemingly moving forward on the Technical Director and Recruitment Director front, the whole management team may be in place soon.
Which is important, as without it in place I'm not convinced we'll be making the best decisions in the transfer market, something that's going to be crucial this summer.
Been confirmed by the club now http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/city-confirm-coaching-team-1593403.aspx
Joe Royal brought in as football consultant? Does this mean a director of football? Or is it just a different post they've made?
