Start again with 2022 as it appears several dodgy things were going on including the first time 2 consecutive World Cups were being bid for.

Corruption within the bidding process to secure the rights to hold the World Cup is certainly suspect in this case. I would think that the Court for Sport Arbitration would have have some input here in resolving the matter. If the World Cup is to be moved to a cooler time of the year the move would have financial implications on the Premier Leagues throughout Europe, and by extension the television rights throughout the world. I cannot for the life of me believe that this sort of power and money from interested parties could not bring FIFA to their senses about hosting the Cup in oppressive conditions, both physical and financial.

Looks like Clegg and Cameron are boarding the bandwagon now it's deemed safe to do so.

Now about that bent Tower Hamlets election the other week.....

FIFA believe that at least seven of the matches in the last World Cup were fixed(SSN).

Insert generic 'English excuses' accusation here.

Michael Garcia has confirmed he intends to conclude his investigation into FIFA World Cups 2018 & 2022 by June 9th and will submit a full report 6 weeks later.

No need to have a new vote. Give / Award it to Australia like they should have done in the first place. imo.

It itself doesn't have to be fixed. But people who have allegedly fixed the Qatar for 2022 voted for 2018 too and if their 2022 vote is chalked off, so should their 2018 if they're guilty. It would be harsh on Russia but the corrupted voters shouldn't be allowed their vote in any World Cup.

An American lawyer isn't going to recommend giving it to Australia when the USA also bid.

Although I agree Australia should have it.

Apparently, a whistle-blower from the England camp reported Robert Green to FIFA for his horrendous World Cup howler in 2010.

However, in response the FIFA official asked them "Which one ?"

Wasn't it actually 7 warm-up games before the 2010 World Cup which are alleged to have been fixed, rather than actual World Cup games?

Possibly, but what I posted was just a copy/paste from a Sky Sports tweet.

    You are correct.

If one is proved to be a corrupt vote, if it's the same committee who voted for the 2018 World Cup, that must also have a revote by default.

It won't, but if it was anywhere other than FIFA it certainly would.

If I recall correctly, we had the future monarch, the current pm and Beckham all networking furiously & all being assured of votes and the Russians were curiously and conspicuously absent in the last few days before the vote.

    Yet Russia romped home.

England v Germany with that linesman ? Would answer why Frank Lampard did not get that goal given.

No he wont as that is not what he is doing. But what he will do is give FIFA the report which should end the story......
    hopefully.

Then the same committee can get back on the free bee roundabout and collect more brown envelopes.
Head's need to roll, starting with septic. but the process of finding the corupt ones, disiplining them, and replacing them will take years.
