Tonight was their chance of taking a massive step in winning promotion back to the prem in the play off final. However they are losing 27-8 with only 1 minute to go. They have a 2nd leg to play as well next week but this is a big margain to catch up! Not looking good for them! Not fair really seeing they actually won the league!
Torn over this one. I would like Bristol to be good in all sports.....but it goes to show that Lansdown just doesn't have the Midas touch!
They've bottled it......again. That's the 2nd or 3rd time that bristol Rugby have won the league by a mile and then failed at the playoffs - I don't want to second guess the 2nd leg result, but it's a tall ask to overturn that points deficit. Look across all of Lansdown's extensive sport portfolio and there's a lot of money spent but very little to show for it.
It is ridiculous though that you come top and you don't get promoted. Just doesn't make sense. -AMOT I believe its because they don't have enough teams to fill two leagues and then have fixtures to complete a whole season. Also top clubs provide players for international duty, so are effectively penalised throughout the domestic season. same as you in a way seamge. however there are a lot of gasheads who also are bristol fans. and im gutted for them. i have also heard they have signed some very expensive players for next season in expectation of getting promoted. maybe a massive mistake!
It really isn't. Think SL has said he'll fund a Premiership strength side in the Championship as long as it takes to get promoted. It's a lot easier to do in rugby to be fair, wage cap in the prem is £5m which is nothing when compared to the money wasted on us over the years! Would be nice if there was a sport we were actually any good at

2nd leg tonight 7.45 kick off. hmm, who do i want to win tonight.... for the gasheads who support bristol - hope they win and go up. gasheads need some cheering up! for the reds along with lansdown - i hope bristol lose and stay down. no prem team at the gate next season and would be considered another failure for lansdown. this is a tough choice.
