I think all the players will need to raise the bar next season, it really is like I say "A Whole New Ball Game " The Premier League will be ruthless and teams that are nothing less than 100% committed to the fight will be punished out of sight.

We will nowhere near create 30 attempts with 17 on target and only score 2 goals. Like many of the Foxes faithful have stated already on here chances are gonna need to be taken and defending rock solid, if we can achieve that mentality then survival becomes a real possibility. Although love the team to bits I just cannot see us being ruthless enough with Jamie and Nuge but I really hope I am proved wrong.

We need a proven striker who plays or who has played at the top level to work alongside our forwards but maybe having Phillips on the coaching side could prove invaluable.

    Anyone else fear the same???

    COYB!!!

Stating the obvious really silver mate, but yes I hear what you're saying
Of course it goes without saying every player has to take their game up a level.
Taking our limited chances in front of goal is paramount as they will be few and far between.
It's going to be an up and down season. Like super kev said we can't get down beat when we lose 2 or 3 on the spin we just have to bounce back and go again

I think our 'pursuit' of Ulloa confirms your thoughts on the striker front ...

One thing in our favour is that we do have goals in us elsewhere in the team ...

    I suppose all sorts of questions go through your head for next season;

Will we be capable of being more ruthless between the opposition goal posts?
Will the middle of our defense (Not Liam but Wes & Marcin) be tapped for pace against more skillful strikers?
The back four and Midfield will need to read the opposition game on a completely different level as well as at the same time have the ability to cause problems in the opposing half!

I like what Tony Cottee has said about us recently and maybe i need to have as much confidence in the boys as he has lol!

I think Vardy will do well in terms of he makes the whole team play better - and we need to remember that when he is not scoring. I also have the upmost faith in DD and James to keep us up - but clearly we need a top 3rd CM to compete (injuries/suspension/form). I imagine something like:

    Kasper
    DL Morgan CB LB
    DD James
    Mahrez Knockaert LM
    Vardy

Or the 5-3-2 / 5-3-1-1 of Hull seems to work a treat in terms of grinding out results in the premiership

Beware of ****e refs and diving experts ..

You need a good defence and some pace in midfield and attack

    With that you'll be fine..

And Carlos Bocanegra, who I'm not sure about, personally...

I'd put Albrighton in the attacking trio, I like the idea of playing him, Mahrez and Knockaert, but I think that might be a little too attacking. It's more likely we'll stick either a central midfielder like King in there or David Nugent. They're working on it, but I don't think Mahrez and Knockaert do enough defensive work. I'd love us to play like Manchester City, with Knockaert playing a David Silva role, but I accept that's asking for trouble.

Easier said than done. Getting a 20 goal a season premier league striker would cost us 15million +

I think that you are wrong about knocky especially, I think that defensively he does plenty, he always chases back and is like a terrier.

Don't forget with the Sky money going up the player prices and wages have too. I don't know why they didn't just put xx amount into each Premier players banks and save the haggling. The silly money has got even sillier.

I agree. I think people often say that he doesnt as he has attacking flair, but if you actually watch him he puts in a real shift i think

It's all about survival in the first season and not expecting because you were runaway champions that you wont go back down, look at qpr and cardiff and many others to tell you that. play it sensible and target teams of the same ilk and try and win most of your home games as you wont win them all and Away wins will be a surprise in the first season that will be a bonus. you have as much chance of staying up as the rest of us but it's not easy..good luck....

I'm getting fed up with this comparison. What about Newcastle and Reading? The other two clubs to also hit 100 points in the last decade went on to have fine first seasons back.

QPR went up and pissed their money up the wall and Cardiff were a ticking time bomb since Tan arrived and they blew up in style when they sacked Mackay.

Yes we're not expecting to survive with ease, but we're also not expecting to go down with a whimper because we're already better than both the QPR side of 12/13 and the Cardiff side of 13/14.

Compare us to sides who went up similarly and the success rate is much higher than those that went up with no competition in seasons where the league was piss poor.

When Reading and Newcastle went up they strengthened what they had and went on to do very well

QPR was a car crash from start to finish. They signed any tom, dick or Harry going and it all blown up in their faces in the end

Nigel has already said we won't be changing too much and I don't think we need to. A couple of positions needs strengthening and we need a bit of depth in other positions

I said before getting contracts sorted was always going to be the most important thing. We have the major contract sorted now in Kasper. Only Nugent and Nigel of course are really left to sign up. There is still a slim chance we can get Lloyd Dyer to change his mind but that looks unlikely the say the least

As for Kevin Phillips staying that could be massive. The signing of Paul Dickov was massive when we was in League 1 as off the pitch he did so much in helping Matty Fryatt who went on to score the goals to get us up. Phillips can help Vardy, Wood, Nugent and whoever else signs by offering them advice and trying to learn them about positioning. Phillips always knew what position he needed to take up and he had the finish to go with it most of the time
