McD has left the club by mutual consent. The real clear out begins. It was inevitable anyway. Next few weeks might be interesting for once for Leeds fans
Yep looks that way. It's starting to break on all sources. Wonder who we'll get in? Probably an Italian but I'd go for Mackay personally. I wish Brian all the best. Another manager our club has made absolute hell for.
Elland the bloke was ****in clueless,in signings apart from smith, and on the pitch aswell. Nice bloke yeah, but I don't want a nice bloke running our football club, Should have been sacked ages ago.
Exactly. We're not in a position to carry passengers. Be it players or coaching staff. To be brutally honest, apart from being a nice guy, McD was a very expensive passenger. Wasn't he supposed to be second highest paid manager in championship so he did just fine out of leeds
Here is the joint statement Brian McDermott and Leeds United have announced their mutual decision for the Leeds United manager to depart from his position. Leeds owner Massimo Cellino stated: "Brian is a great manager and a great guy. He has been unfortunate to work in such difficult circumstances. I did not fully understand the mess he had to work in, and the broken promises he had to deal with, until I have got involved trying to turn Leeds around. "He has been a gentleman to deal with in our discussions and has been very understanding of my wish to implement a new structure. His main concern and priority at all times has been the welfare and protection of Leeds United. I wish him well for the future where I am sure he will continue to have more success and thank him for his efforts in being a stabilising and unifying figure behind the scenes in very difficult circumstances. "His honest efforts to guide us to the safety of mid-table when faced with many difficulties is appreciated by us all. He will always be a friend of Leeds United." Brian McDermott stated: "It has been my great privilege to manage this great club and I have enjoyed the challenge immensely. "However it is clear that Massimo wishes to implement a new structure and feels he will work more successfully for Leeds with a coach rather than a manager. I respect that Massimo must be fully supported in putting together his vision for the club so he can bring us the success we all want. It is my belief that when truly United we are stronger. Massimo wants to bring a new energy to the club so that we can return to where we belong as a healthy football club. "To my players for their efforts I say a big thank-you. To all the staff and especially my great assistant manager Nigel Gibbs and my great friend Patrick Dolan I am especially grateful for their support. "Finally to the incredible force that is the Leeds United supporters, I offer my heartfelt thanks. Your support of me and the players was always an inspiration and I urge everyone to get behind the team and the new owner next season to get us back to where we need to be, fighting for trophies and competing at the top-table of English and European football. "It won't be easy, but Marching On Together we can get there. "I wish Massimo and all my friends at Elland Road every success in the future." - See more at: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/art...tatement-brian-mcdermott#sthash.Sgr2bJEl.dpuf
Yeah I know that and I agree. Still doesn't alter the fact that our owners made life hell for him. They were nowhere to be seen in January.
Seems don cellino is doing as he should, start afresh, new broom sweeps clean, And I really hope he does that,we've had far to many mediocre second tier years. If we go up fine, but if we don't I want to see a leeds united that fight for every ball.
Owners were feckin skint, yeah, but 5 th in december to fighting relegation is not the owners fault. Players and manager. Oh and please don't mention off the field stuff, bored and tired off overpaid football players bleating that ****e. Evening mate, btw.
I am pleased it's announced as it was inevitable. Not sure though that he was so bad, I am sure he'll be in another job soon and I'll watch with interest how he does. Never had a chance at Leeds, we know what he did but not what he wanted to do, so I believe it's best not to pass judgement. But as he was not Cellino's man it's good he's gone and the decks are cleared for whatever Cellino wants to do On we go .....
Yep. I said many times last season how awful we were to watch. I hope never to have to sit through such garbage again. If I could see that with my limited football knowledge, I'm sure Cellino certainly did too
10 years and counting since the small club leeds united were in the top flight of english football burnley, wigan, fulham, blackpool, hull city, sheffield united, Leicester city, watford, crystal palace, wolverhampton etc have been in since please log in to view this image
Leaves with my best wishes. Was shafted by GFH and will go on to do a great job somewhere else. I honestly believe he saved us from relegation last season. At least Cellino's finally made a decision. I'd love to see Claudio Ranieri take over, has history with Cellino at Cagliari. I'd be putting my money on Carbone though
Born in Greenock, lived in Stirling area for most of my life, family moved to Inverness 6 years ago now. Support Leeds because of my dad who's from Skipton.

Simon, come on,he saved us from relegation? We were 5 th at christmas, the bloke is feckin clueless, useless signings, smith apart, useless tactics and subs. I really can't see why people feel sorry for him,cos he's a nice bloke!!!
