£1.2m to the gas too... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27629474 Is their luck changing a little.?
Yes it is, they are saying on there board £1.8 - 2.25 million so yep their luck is changing it's getting worse
Will they use that money to pay off lawyers, clear off existing, increasing debt, investing some on new players or stick in their back pockets, the way they normally do, bunch of w**kers.. All the best to Ricky Lambert, deserves all he gets.
Good news for all concerned and a message to our cross city friends - now you will get phone calls from the most expensive lawyers in town, so beware!
Lambert has got where he is today through hard work and effort-He does deserve this and I agree with all the other comments- I do however find it a little odd- He is 32, £4m is a lot of money for a 32 year old striker. He is going to the World Cup and on the edge of the England team, but realistically, is he really going to start every week at Liverpool ahead of Sturridge and Suarez? At Southampton, he is pretty much assured of a regular start. I just wonder how much time he is likely to spend on a bench next season. Be a shame if he does as this would also affect his England chances.
I think he is very underrated (by me in all honesty not so long ago.) his size bring out that 'He's a good plan B' attitude in people.. I honestly think he's a better football player than that. I have watched him a lot at Southampton and been impressed by his ability..
I don't see Lambert as a Liverpool player and a gdknac says, he's hardly one for the long term future
He's likely to get more bench time than at Southampton, but on the other hand, he's got the chance of Champions League football next season. He may be third in the pecking order behind Suarez and Sturridge, but there'll be plenty of chances for him with rotation and the extra European games, not to mention any injuries to those first choice strikers. 4 million isn't bad business for Liverpool if you look at how much non-British players cost. Good move for Lambert too, at 32 and a Liverpool fan. Good luck to him.
Best of luck to Ricky Lambert, a great guy & a far better player than he's given credit for, going to surprise a lot of people at this years World Cup!
Rodgers is a very clever manager. He had a great attacking side but did not have a plan B. He does now. In addition he also has someone who the youngsters at Anfield can use as a role model. He isn't the most talented footballer that has ever lived, but by hard work and dedication he has got himself from Liverpool reject, via several lower league teams, to a world cup and a move back to his home city club which he has supported all his life. And probably a very handsome bank balance as well. Smart business by Rodgers?
I'm a bit surprised at some of the comments coming out in favour of this move, and how good a signing people think it is. I remember saying on the old 606 boards when we got Maynard we should get Lambert to partner him. I was lambasted because he was a rovers player, which is fair enough. Then a year later I said we should sign him, and was again lambasted with people like shiny saying "he could never cut it at championship level, far to big a step up for him, and he is too old now"... He was 27 at the time!!! I think he is a class player, and it goes to show just what a bunch of money grabbing pillocks the blue few have running there club. Selling him for 1 million when he is almost at his prime, and now at 32 when he is past his prime and has about 2 years left in him, he is worth 4 million! They saw a quick buck, and like with Hayles, Jason Roberts, where did it go? Aston Martins for Mr Dunford!
