Confirmation on takeover...... I can 100% tell you that any potential takeover is NOT happening. I have a source and he has confirmed there is NO takeover. Infact Flavio and Bernie, as this has dragged on are more determined to remain in control and see where it takes them. The plan is to keep us up and in the Premier League. This will be achieved with minimal spending, and an array of bosman's and free transfers. The wage cap is 25k a week, which Adel is pretty much on now. Once Vine, Hall, Agymang etc go we will have some wages freed up to sign other players with. Most importantly the players signed WILL be Neil's and not Paladini's or Flavio's, or else Neil walks. They know this and respect it. Expect a maximum of 6 mil on 3/4 transfers and the rest freebies. Staying up is the target and main priority, and that is waht Briatore and Ecclestone are planning to do, with least spending as possible. This is how it is people, so hopefully these *****s claiming takeovers and rich arabs coming, can move along and keep their trap shut. __________________
6 million for 3/4 players who can keep us up, that's ever gotta be some shrewd business or some **** signings
If that is the case , lets get the players in and start to plan . Its this whole nothing happening thing that is pissing me of . If this is the direction , and these are the owners lets move on. Us quibbling will not change anything .
Free players demand higher wages anyway. 6M won't get us 3/4 either (unless they're old enough to remember rationing). Want to stay up AND pocket the TV revenues.... sounds a bit Blackpool/Derby-esque. :0/
Just out of interest.... How many times have we ALL seen someone say "100%" Just because someone who posts on WATRB's says it's FACT, doesn't mean that it IS fact. Does Jeffro have a history of being right? Has he ever had a rumour come true? Or is this just someone else putting their two-penneth in? Cause it seems that there are two sides.... One side, with sources, say "Not happening" Other side, with sources, say "It could be happening" This is just so much bollox until we know one way or another. I wouldn't listen to anyone now!!!
It occurs to me that if the Goons want the best price, they will give the impression that it's their intention to remain owners all season (and at the same time let it be known that everything has a price and they will consider all gigantic bids). There may be two camps at LR. The Goons camp, that say they are looking forward to the season (unless and until they sell the club) and the Mittals who are confident that a deal can be reached. What a source says, depends on which camp that source is in and what story he's peddling...
I wonder what the odds are on us beating Derby's record of 11 points? Or finishing in single digits? Might be worth a flutter
well if thats true then we will have to be extremely good/lucky in the loan department..shoot me down if im wrong ,but i recall Warnock advocating having your own players and not loads of loanees! if we only have a smallish budget of 6mill to work with, how on earth can we expect to compete?
aero agreee with you 100% However, money talks and IF someone was to offer enough to Bernie & Flav, then they are business people would look at the offer and decide. As free as surviving on Bosman's - I am sure that NW is shrewd enough to know who he wants and what he thinks they are worth. On the list of released premier players there were som names around Tom Cruise, Carew, Upson, Forrester (Villa) and one or two others that would be worth looking at. As far as wages max being £25,000.00 per week.........I mean if you can't live off that try living off the wages the supporters earn!!!
"The plan is to keep us in the PL with minimum spending..." The amounts mentioend here are well below the minimum required to avoid the drop so what kind of plan is that then? If there is a takeover I'm going to find out where Jeffro lives and smash all his windows for spoiling my evening. But we are now finished with Thursday which was the target that some of the rumours spoke about so you have to fear the worst. I just bloody renewed my season ticket as well in the hope that things were finally moving.
Rumour and counter-rumour, it's all bollox, no-one knows what is happening and they're just speculating. For those of a nervous disposition: http://www.samaritans.org/talk_to_someone.aspx
For ****'s sake!!(Sorry Northy). It could only happen to Rangers. We finally get to the promised land, with billionaire owners and they don't want to spend any money to keep us there. Complete and utter twats!! What a joke we will be in the Prem!
Before I comment, just had to highlight your's Sooper. Very drole... excellent!! Of course we've no clue as to who's sources are accurate - and probably neither do the sources. David Mac said something's gonna happen but couldn't say what... and he's a serial pessimist! That said, the content of this Jeffro's claim is plausible enough. It all hangs together within the context of what Ecclestone's said before and adds specifics like transfer budget and wage ceilings; and also Warnock's conditions. Whilst I continue to (defiantly / desperately) cling to the hope of a positive takeover, Jeffro's assertion provides me with a vague idea of the length and breadth of the nightmare scenario. Could it be any worse? Possibly - but not a lot imo. All I can draw from this is, thank God Warnock's still with us. If anyone can even think of doing a survival job on such meagre investment, he's the man(ager). Lippi, Jol, Anchovi...? Not a snowball's chance in hell.
Why is life so difficult being an Rs supporter - just when we think things are going our way, we get dumped on by the Goons - we then get given a glimmer of hope with yet another take-over story, only for it to drag on for an eternity - I just can't wait for the season to start so at least we can moan about the football and what's happening on the pitch instead of whats happening in the boardrooms!!!!
I posted a similar article to this last night, ( Were going straight back down ) and got slaughtered. Yet all my statement stated was fact. Alas it was rebuked with ....''Wum'' and..''abitb'' among others. ( Yes, I came from 606,) and enjoyed the posts on there without the need to contribute. But sure enough, on this site, if 'Northolt' posts anything it is deemed sacred. I am beginning to believe an earlier poster, who said something like.. that this is starting to feel like an 'Old boys club.' I'm sorry if I don't join in with the irreverant postings, I couldn't care less who was No.1 when we won Div 3 South. I am passionate about QPR, and having invested many emotional years in supporting QPR ( 43 ) ..I'm now 45, read my profile... defo not a wum or a abitb.....I hate to see it come to this. As I have said earlier, we will not stay up with the present set-up, or indeed with the lack of promised ( lack of ) investment. If we are going to kick the ball ...' We kick it bloody hard!' We have to make a statement of intent, it's not good enough hoping for the best. Now we are there we have to make sure we stay there, it's not good enough to lose to the 'Top six' draw away and pick up points at Fortress Loftus Road.' And hope to stay up. Wolves,Wigan, Bolton, Norwich & Swansea can all do that. Lets not be happy to make up the numbers, and struggle for survival, lets think big...( How long have crappy Fulham survived in the prem, with buggerall money?) I dont want to waste my time suffering 3-0 at home and watch us go back down. I have a young family who would rather see their daddy happy than see him have the hump all weekend over another QPR defeat.
Just to play D.A. for a second, they have coughed up a lot of money getting us to the Premier League, maybe they feel entitled to claim some it it back.
