The press seem to be linking us with every Saints player. So lets take a look at what a combined Southampton - Liverpool team would look like. Starting 11 and 7 on the bench. And then write underneath whether you think your team could win the league. I'll start: --------------Mignolet--------- -Flanagan--Lovren--Sakho--Shaw --------------Gerrard---------- --------Henderson--Lallana----- ----Sturridge------------Sterling- ---------------Suarez---------- Bench: Boruc, Agger, Clyne, Sneiderlin, Coutinho, Borini, Rodriguez. Summary: Still has our super attack, plus Lallana adding extra muscle and goals from midfield. Rodriguez and Borini add attacking impact and goals from the bench. Improvement over all. Lovren should add leadership to our defense and we gain some decent full backs. Clyne is decent competition to that role. Sneiderlin and Coutinho add great competition in midfield. Coutinho could of course start ahead of Henderson and Lallana easily. Good flexibility. I'd say sure, this team could win the league.
balls mings flanagan skertl sahko SHAW Gerrard Henderosn Coutinho Sterling Suarez Sturridge. seriously... we've damned good players in our strongest outfit. Better than most of southamptons lot.. sorry but it is true. Lallana is decent but he's way over priced.
Lovren would get ahead of Skrtel for me and Shaw would obviously get in at LB. Based on last season, Lallana would be in instead of Coutinho. Coutinho will be the better player but Lallana has 5 years on him and was more consistent last year. Clyne is no better than Flanagan. If we were to go for one of their right backs I'd rather it be Chambers who started coming into the team. Younger and looks a good player.
Fairly cheap back up for SAS We need a bigger squad, which is small as it is, with extra games. Plus we can sell Aspas, Assman and wont have to loan players like Moses. We're already light on Strikers even if Borini is coming back for good (doubtful). He's different from what we've already got and at £4mil (maybe rising to 6ish) its not really a bad buy. At 32 we'll probably get 2 maybe 3 years out of him.
its not small its just bad... there is a difference. aspas is a journeyman and borini is average. lambert is just a change of face not improving anything. if borini is replace by someone actually good then it'd be a better line up. replacing moses with anyone linked to would be good and then we'll see. we've got the bodies but they are not all good...
Well that was my point really, he's old, is no better than we have already (maybe different, but no better) and I just can't see the logic bar a makewheight for the lallanallana move, another I think is pants in terms of value for money, thought we stopped buying has beens and big fish in little ponds? Won't be very impressed with either Lambert or lalllananna if they are confirmed
At the very least, Lambert can provide a physical presence up top when we struggle to break down teams.
Carroll was on high wages and put little effort in. Lambert, Scouser, happy to sit on the bench and will put in a shift when called up on. Fraction of the cost, fraction of the wages, and we will recoup the money back from selling Aspas. Now you're the ****** for failing to grasp that.
appoint moyes...... i mean this comment here is a great example of how a poorly thought wum effort can be quite funny. UIR has basically said here that carroll is a fantastic player.... e should never have sold him by extension. the inference is there so rather than winding anyone up he ends up getting laughed at... therefore using the word ******ed in the posts allows someone to say the only ****** round here is.... luckily i don't stoop to use that term to insult anyone given the knowledge that it insults those with special needs just as much as the person being insulted
Do you honestly think rickie would be happy on the bench you clearly don't no him. But if he goes to you then I wish him all the best. Boyhood dream
I have clearly stated you sold **** to replace him with more **** ( no offense to Lambert but hes a trillion miles from top class. ) It would be like us selling Fellaini and buying Huddlestone. I suppose you could be buying him to replace the departing Suarez though. makes sense I guess.
