Very good point, and look how well Puncheon has played this season. Funny how nobody seems to mind that one, but selling Lambert, for a pretty decent wedge, is unconscionable.

We minded then we moved on. Puncheon was nowhere near the hero Lambert is, but we'll move on with that too. Heat of the moment over reactions are natural.

to be fair, most people were still convinced we were going to trade up.

    now we are less convinced.

I'm not being funny, but if you can't see why there is a difference in opinions between puncheon and lambert, you may as well stop coming on here!

    Puncheon was replaceable.

Lambert is irreplaceable. I can't think of another forward who does what he does, hence why Liverpool want him.

We'd realistically have to replace him next year anyway. Why not cash in why we still can? I love the guy, and he'd be a great mentor to our younger players if he stays, but it's a move that makes sense.

Of course Lambert is replaceable. He's a legend and I love the guy but there are seven teams who finished ahead of us who didn't have him. We can adapt our play style or get someone in who can do some of the important parts of Lambert's role.

TBH if we do get good value for the player mentioned I would think an incoming manager might see £100m to spend as a very attractive proposition and far from the belief that it would make us less attractive. It would give a new manager a full chance to get players he would like straight away.

Sad about Rickie. Wondering how to break the news to my 9 year old who is a mad Lambert fan. He sincerely thinks he's one of the world's best players. lol. When Ronaldo got the world player of the year he asked 'Where did Lambert come?' He will be heartbroken.

Mods change the amount in the title. It's already frustrating let alone thinking about how much money we could get for Ricky which is clearly going to be a lot less.

    Interesting rumour floating about

Michael Stafford @SportStafford · £31m Seems the deal as I said Before, Rickie Lambert 9m, Lovren 20m, Lallana 2m (so bournemouth don't get the cut) Great marketing from #LFC.

So if the rumours are true does that mean Liverpool are effectively wanting Adam and Ricky for a total of £29m? That's a lot but - does that get you a replacement international, PL proven, striker and midfielder these days? Maybe?

Until it's official I'm taking this all as rumour. I'm under no illusion some players will go but if we sell too many, even if we buy others, it's surely gonna be tricky rebuilding a well oiled team for next season. Not worried yet, but far from happy!

so apart from switching the names around, each of them is going for half price?
