Watch this video and see how far Giaccherini has come with his English. He seems like he is only pausing to think about what he is going to say about each player, not just how he is going to say it in English. This is the same bloke who didn't speak a word of English last summer but who said he was determined to learn English and fit in. Di Canio said he was always writing English the players said in a notebook in training. The rest of his team mates will give him plenty of respect for the way he tries and never whinges. You have to admire the professionalism and attitude of Giaccherini. Recent comments about wanting to play in the Premier League for the Sunderland shirt.....good lad.

Also, you look at his comments vs. Nasri who also just missed out on the World Cup. Wor Giacch has a fair bit of class about him it seems.

Not surprisingly none of our players make his top 5 he's played with!

He's a Model pro and a very determined character. You just know he won't walk from the this league until he's cracked it. Many a player would be trying to force a move after the season he's had(having to adapt and lack of playing time).

You hear that a lot about Italian players, their professionalism and attention to detail.

I'd love to see this lad become a real local legend

His defensive work is poor..Borini however can attack and defend...so it is not an Italian thing,. Although Giac he is not very tall, he do does look strong but yet he seems slight on the pitch and needs to be able to impose his physicality better than he has as he gets knocked off the ball far too easily.

One of our more talented players for sure. Should be a real plus in his second season.

He's the type of player you build a squad around, something we have not done.

For me next season I'd be playing Wickham and giacc together as they seem to have a great understanding. Just don't think that fits Gus's model.

The Italian way of playing is much slower than here and he doesn't quite have the power. Just wish we could get him involved as he is a top quality player.

Actually as much as I really like him he really does have the shot power of a 5yr old. You never see him whack his laces on a ball, but then again he doesn't seem to need to. I wonder how good his goals to mins ratio is? Pretty good I would imagine.

If he stays I think he will be class next season. He is very creative and can pick a pass as well as turn a man. He scored quite a few goals too considering his limited game time. If he was in Arsenals team people would be ****ing off about him. A creative talent that can score goals and its committed to the cause?? YES PLEASE.

He caught that one at The Emirates alright. He's got a better dig than Sessegnon thats for sure.

Yeah, Sess was a very poor finisher. There was no craft, poise or polish in his finishing, he always seemed to scuff them and always seemed to be stretching or off balance when he shot. Then again, if Sess was a good finisher and he had an ounce of aggression in him he would have never played for us and he'd be £40m+ playing for one of the big 10 of Europe.

Giac is at least very deliberate in where he is putting it and he must have had his Weetabix at the Emirates because he's normally no Tony Yeboah!

The lad is pure quality IMO.

I've predicted for sometime that he will be our player of the season next time out. Chuffed it looks like he is staying.
