The most startling comment in Dyer's SLP interview was the revelation about precisely how the Network scout players. What was it again - they sit in front of lap tops watching You Tube clips <ok> Its a sort of EasyJet version of football scouting <cheers>. Perhaps that is RD's next business venture - a computer programme called EasyScout ?

Just imagine if we ever made it to the Premier League under RD. "No need to watch Man United for next Saturday Bob, just watch Match of the Day tonight instead".

Cheers, Jose. You did well, but we don't reward success here.

That's what I read from it. Bob Peeters? pfft. That article has made me angrier about the whole thing.

Actually, despite my anger at not keeping JR, I'm happy to give the guy a chance now he's definately ours. My problem stems from a gut feeling that having had CP as a defender turned manager, and seen the sort of football that he promoted, Belgian Bob will, as attacker turned manager, turn out the sort of rubbish Keegan did. The reports I ve seen on him are'nt exactly great.

I've heard Keegan's football described as many things, but not 'rubbish'. I know it can backfire, but I think it's an admirable approach to the game - 'we will score more than you'. Although Newcastle never won anything with him, those were very good times for them, coming so close to winning the league.

If Peeters' football is similar then I look forward to it, much as I'm not at all convinced he is the right man for Charlton.

I just can't see it... if you think"he was so successful" why do you "look at other alternatives.”

I feel like a blind man at the movies, after reading that nonsense...

It was a typo error- should have read "look at cheaper alternatives".

Of course she does. R D's Bit on the side.

You only give untitled jobs to women if you

A) want to bang them
B) have banged them and don't want them to tell your wife
C) are still banging them.

The whole charade is quite obvious-send all your casts off to England. I'm surprised the team are not being sent last seasons Standard liege shirts and half eaten oranges.

What a load of patronising gobshite! In what possible way is somebody with such a very poor record in the Juniper League a better option than JR who was very successful in his spell with Charlton last season?

At least Katrien is prepared to make statements about what "we" decided. The invisible RD is calling the shots from his keyboard.

The line that I find significant is this one

“When José arrived he had other commitments and it was not easy for him to make himself available. But he succeeded to find an arrangement and showed great commitment in his work at Charlton."

The message that the club are looking to put out there is that Riga was more interested in pushing his other interests (presumably his training methods system and deep friendship with Jose Mourinho) than he was in being head coach at Charlton, and that they wanted a full time head coach for next season.

I'm not saying that the above suggestion is true, but that seems to be what the club are saying.

It reminds me of the message following Kermorgant's departure. Both appear to be a bit amateur, and both seemed very defensive.

what i find amazing is that they appear to have caved to pressure from the fans. all day you can see @Cafcofficial taking a battering, people asking for some answers and the truth. things like, "why weren't such and such player thanked?", "why wasn't riga thanked?". days later they take note, pay lip service - it ain't enough. we aren't thick, we're the audience, they should be telling us whats happening and answering them questions without being prompted. its human decency to answer them two examples. As a football club that's been running for over 100 years, they should automatically know to thank players and people who have done us a favour. we were saved from relegation by them.

whats even more annoying is that they pick and chose what lip service they pay. not a word on dyer so far. they'll never print what he's said in the slp - if all you had was the official website you would wonder what's happened to him.

these people have no idea what they're doing. riga and cp attempted to keep the club respectable by doing the right footballing things. anyone who holds faith in RD still, is deluded.

If you only had the official website, would you know that Dyer has left?

Would you care?

I miss the golden era of club communication. The BBC page showing Parky staring glumly at his uncertain future throughout the summer, and the only message from board to fans was a hint that he'd be sacked if enough season tickets were sold.

After Dyer spilling the beans I expect the OS to airbrush him out of Charlton's history. When Powell was sacked there was also a curt statement that he had left the club. It has become RD's mouthpiece, and reflects his personality.
I take the reference to JR's commitments as being his job in Italy, and whatever else he was involved in there which it was difficult for him to leave.

Well, if you think that was a brilliant goal, you must have an orgasm when you rewatch N'Guessan's goal.

Neither of them are up to Championship standard. Though a player combining Ghoochanijhad's skill and N'Guessan's physique would be worth having.

Fair comment if he were 21, but he is 26. He is not suddenly going to bulk up and grow a pair at that age.

Going back to Powell isn't an option right now though. Dyer wasn't exactly popular with internet forums when Powell was manager.

You don't "find an arrangement" about leaving your existing job, unless it's to leave short term and return at a specified date. I still think it's about balancing Charlton with external stuff. Could be family life, I guess.
