    Welcome. Try and stay fit.

(would have gone for McCarthy or Pantilimon myself)

Does that mean Vorm is off?

I would say Vorm is Liverpool bound now? Not sure if it was the injury or not but his heart just didn't seem in it after his return. Not to criticise him though, has been great for us and I would prefer he stays but looks very unlikely now doesn't it?

I like this signing...a lot of Arsenal fans are saying he's a quality keeper. We might have made a good signing here.

Stereo, nothing to do with Ashley Williams.

But I think it means Vorm is off - and after last season, it's maybe not such a bad thing. Vorm doesn't seem to be able to stop shots anymore, they just seem to go straight through him. Fabianski is 6'3'' so that'll hopefully help in the air too.

    Welcome to Swansea!

On second thoughts, nothing to do with Ash. This is a free transfer, so Arsenal don't have any say in it.

Isn't he out of contract so nothing Arsenal could do.

. . . new arrival reveals his delight following Swans switch

Lukasz Fabianski admits becoming Swansea City’s first summer signing was an “easy decision to make.”
The Polish international, who has signed a four-year contract as a free transfer, will officially become a Swan on July 1 when his current agreement at Arsenal expires.
Fabianski ended his seven-year spell with the Gunners after helping them lift the FA Cup earlier this month.
And he is now excited with the new challenge ahead as the Swans look forward to a fourth Barclays Premier League campaign.
“I am very happy with the move, the decision and the club,’’ declared Fabianski.
“I’m very excited for the coming season and the coming years.
“It will be a big honour to represent Swansea City. Everyone interested in football knows that Swansea is a proper football club. The way they play football is nice to watch and they have always been an exciting team.
“Based on what the club has achieved in the three previous seasons in the Premier League, you can clearly see that year upon year the club is moving forward.
“The club represents good values and the style of football is something that I would like to be a part of.
“I know quite a bit about them already, but I am sure I will get to know quite a bit more in the coming months. For me, it was an easy decision to make to join the club."

Fabianski will join senior goalkeepers Michel Vorm and Gerhard Tremmel in the battle for the regular No. 1 shirt. But having played understudy at Arsenal for lengthy spells in the last few seasons to Manuel Almunia and Wojciech Szczęsny, the Pole is adamant he wants to be first choice at his new club.
“If I’m completely honest, the main reason I came to Swansea was because I want to be the number one goalkeeper,’’ added Fabianski, who featured in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at the Liberty during the 2012-13 campaign. “I want to play week-in, week-out.
“It’s going to be a real fight, but I’m not afraid of that. Competition is always good, so I think everyone will take positives from that.
“I’m excited. I’ve already asked for the pre-season programme to see how it looks. I’m really looking forward to starting with my new team-mates and I think it’s going to be a fantastic new chapter in my life.
“I will be working hard for the club, giving everything every single day. I can promise that.”

Quality signing! As for Ash: isn't he out of contract in 6 months?

12 months means Ash is up for sale, or will end his career in Swansea, signing his last long term contract soon...

Personally if I was him, I'd go wherever the biggest wage offer is as this will be his last major contract and now has to put the financial security of his family and children first.

I'm convinced his personal finances will be ok by now. It'll be ambition that drives him forward and away now: champions league or the prospect of a managerial position in Swansea when his playing career comes to an end...

    Totally agree.
He's got to do what's best for himself and family and the Club's got to what's best for Swansea City.
I'd let him go this summer if the buying club coughs up enough for a replacement...£6m+ imo
Otherwise I see nothing wrong with making him see out the contract he signed up for...he'll make more money for himself next summer (If that's what happens though I want to see him ride the bench with either Amat or Bartley playing alongside Chico...getting the experience and informing us of whether we need to spend money in that position when Ash leaves).
We've got to make decisions on a professional basis rather than sentiment imo.

Good bit of business this, and the fact that Monk has prioritised it means Vorm is off imo.

If Arsenal only value him at £3m we'd be far better seeing out the contract - may find they'll lose interest.

If there's a sniff he could go for £3. million I'd be shocked if a Brendan didn't try and get him so that would push up the price, don't discount Roberto having a look at that sort of price either.
Think he will go for 5-8 million.
