The revised CTWD group

I guess this will generate a bit of backlash for me, but as it's no longer a single issue group, should they not be commenting on the recent stand changes?

I would have thought it was an issue for the 'official' supporters club. But the silence from them is deafening.
Do the club have a fans liaison officer who they listen too and pass information too? A Danny Pratt character, who actually answers the phone, supports the club and goes to matches?
I thought it was of importance to the club as a ground safety officer is? Also isn't it a role the club had to fill to comply with Premier League/Football League membership?

Apart from them payment timing, there isn't much that any group can complain about is there.

 

Not really. I recall there was a meeting before the Arsenal league game where the constitution was discussed, and I think it was agreed that the group reformed to a broader remit to cover more fan/club issues. I think some discussion was help on changing the group name, but CTWD still seemed to fit.

I just thought the stand change would be an issue they'd have a view on, given a fair number of fans are affected and some are so unhappy they're walking away.

 

Im surprised too tbh, this seems right up their street.

The change is happening, for better or worse, but the transision can be improved in a way that would help with the stated aim of improving atmosphere.

 

Really? On what remit from fans? Surely fans should have been asked before the spokes people suggest we support it?

 

The main issue is likely to be they are still seen as a protest group, and while they use the same name, that's what they'll always been seen as. They are not a liaison group, they are not an officially recognised fans group. They have zero power, zero influence and zero relations with the club.

So, other than protesting, or doing one of their press releases, there's not much they can do.

 

I'm shocked CTWD haven't commented on this.

I mean huge swathes of fans are throwing their toys round about it, the amount of backlash is frightening - so far I've seen Dutch and Obi oppose it!

If that's not enough opposition to risk triggering a new World War, I don't know what is. This huge uprising will not be crushed easily.

 

DMD, have you made your feelings known to the club, has anyone who is affected, contacted any of the committees, CTWD or otherwise.

Are you not a member of CTWD, surely you could have raised your concerns in a less public manner? CTWD has/had a big following in the affected stand. Aside from on here haven't you got contacts with them.

To be honest I couldn't care less about the move its self and as you can pay by direct debit the money isn't a real issue for me either. I suspect that my selfish attitude actually reflects that of the moajority of supporters.

 

So they have gone back on their word then.

It became clear they had won when it was announced that the FA had been advised to say no in March. They then in April anticipating this had a meeting to reform to broaden their remit.

 

I agree but there is a right and a wrong way of issuing news about the club. Personally I think the moving of the away fans is a good idea. It should have been dressed up as a positive move with everything explained in black and white beforehand. I read on another forum that someone was suggesting a new name for the North Stand, the club could have done that, invited fans consultation. Instead we have had a lot of suspicion and confusion, questions of where and where not we can sit etc. Its a dogs dinner of a move so far and it should have been announced with a fanfare of positivity. We are talking of creating a new 'Kempton' and that should be good news, not shrouded in suspicion as it is at the moment.
Likewise the news about the price increase on season tickets. We are still on par with non league Grimsby Town on price, has that point been made? There was no increase last season and the owners kept a lid on it, was that mentioned? The club want to maintain progress in the Premier League and it doesn't come cheap therefore the club NEED the increase. All we have heard is that our gate money is insignificant, therefore fans think they are getting ripped off for the sake of it.
To simplify matters. You can announce news positively or negatively and from where I'm sitting it seems that City have not realised that yet.

nb; Adam Pearson employed Danny Pratt. His job before that was organising coach trips, amongst other venues, to Manchester United games.

 

Was Danny Pratt the massive mountain of a man?

If so he may have had a ****ty job before, but he was good at liaising with the fans.

 

i believe that they have renamed themselves CAMTN2 (City Against Move To N2). The ego trippers can carry on until the next issues arise. I believe CANP (City Against New Pies) is on the agenda, followed also by LGBT (Lets Go Bust Together) when City drop out of the Premiership.

 

I thought LGBT was about different issues altogether.

 

I don't see the name "City Til We Die" as being synonymous with protest - I see it as being synonymous with unwavering loyalty to Hull City.

Meanwhile, back in the real world...most people associated with the club won't see it through your eyes.
