I would too at the moment, but, without having any choice, I hope Ralph comes good. Is different, but perhaps with other strengths. The difficulty is that football fans are used to certain styles in football (either men of the earth or suave), but don't respond to management speak...we tend to yell, get to the point man!! I want him to succeed (for Saints' sake), so let's wait and see.
I'm going to get filthy rich transponsting, and then Cortese and I will form a consortium and come back in a blaze of glory.
I for one have moved on from Cortese. I think people remember him more fondly than he deserved. He did a lot right obviously, but he also made some bad decisions that would have been mitigated had he been more willing to take advice from others. I think the current situation is much tougher than anything he faced and were he still here all the people wishing for his return would probably be just as frustrated with him as they are with Krueger and co.
Didn't he say about being judged on his actions and not his words? The only action I see is MoPo has gone, and RK's two interviews haven't answered any questions. Maybe he hasn't got the answers yet and MoPo had made up his mind to go ages ago, if so be more open and less waffle. I just want some positive action.
The only difference if Cortese had been here is that Judas' departure would have been "by mutual consent" rather than resignation.
True to his word, Ralph is at Burton today to watch the England U19 side... please log in to view this image
Undoubtedly, though who's to say an offer from Spurs wouldn't have turned his head even if Cortese were still here?
I don't think anyone would say that for sure, but Cortese sold this club to Pochettino, and I'm sure he would have made staying look more attractive were he still here. The same can probably be said for a few of our players, unfortunately.
That's fine. Then MP has to go. And everyone else who is disillusioned by Cortese also has to go. Cortese made a bunch of promises that the board/club is unable or unwilling to follow through on. Sorry if those player feel like they were signed under false pretenses, but if they're angry about it, they should direct their ire towards the man who lied to them. Same goes with the fans. I can't understand why anyone would want Cortese back. He was selling everyone a "vision" which he actually had no authority or ability to carry out. And what's worse is he made it seem like the vision was his so that the loyalty would be to him instead of his employers. I would have canned his ass, too.
I don't think you've got any of that right. Cortese failed to follow through on his promises by being forced out? That's like criticising Dick in The Shining for failing to save Wendy and Danny because the inconsiderate bastard went and got himself killed. Thanks for leaving us against your will, Cortese, you dick. How are you going to do what you promised now?
What Cortese was, ultimately, was a maverick and a megalomaniac. The cheek of trying to use someone else's possession as your plaything. He made SFC his bitch and sucked up to our key players to make it personal. It was never personal. It's football. If the players aren't loyal to the club, then their loyalty is no use. Loyalty to Cortese is like loyalty to the specific kit we wear one season and being unable to move on when we dump the stripes...
