Now then.. Ever felt like you have a drink problem? I mean a couple of bottles of lager in the afternoon, have some scran and a few beers on the night and then before you realise, it's like 16 bottles! granted like it's piss weak green Carlsberg but a drink is a drink and all that? Anyhow, wonder how smugs doing in Cornwall, probably annexed Devon for good, the mans the Putin of 606 haha, a good mitigator, anyone remember 'My Cousin Vinny'? ****in smug to a tee. Anyways, hope to be visiting the shrine a lot more next season and hope to rub shoulders with a few more of you lads, my good lady is very slowly moving again but after 5 years others need to stand up and be counted and lend a hand.. Think the world of you lot and as a footnote to GT and rooch and other old Michael Parkinson types, I'm listening to the old Genesis at the mo, now I am a big Peter Gabriel fan but did you lads prefer this to the commercialised stuff of the mid 80"s?? Take care you lot, be safe & be happy..
Never ever got that link VJ for that P. Gabriel concert. I now have a couple of shows recorded 1 x Athens 1 x Paris. Superb musician. Still have a couple of Genesis LPs Nursery Cryme & Foxtrot. Bloody hell vinyl. Showing my age now. Was fortunate enough to see them twice whilst PG was the singer. Tremendous showman with he's weird hats etc. Glad too hear things are moving in the right direction with your good lady, albeit slowly. The old ones are the best but the only drink problem I have is I can't get enough of it. I recently tried a little 32% strength beer down your neck of the woods. £5 for a third of a pint of Nuclear Tactical Penguin. I bottled the eight quid 70% er.
I wish I could drink 16 bottles of lager right now..On duty at Sunderland Uni tonight and couldn't get away from hearing the One Direction concert even from the City Campus...
I loved the early Genesis, and was disappointed when Gabriel left. I assumed that they would get worse, but actually my favourite albums of theirs are Wind and Wuthering, and A Trick of the Tail. Once Hackett left it was a downhill spiral though. Their 80s stuff is decent as far as 80s music goes, but not really my cup of tea.
Joe - Collins cannot hold a candle to the Gabriel days - Genesis were a far better band with him at the front Oh - I have a gig in York in July - july 26th at Alansford Barracks! Although I'm only doing about 5 songs acoustically so it's not a full on thing!!
It was a great trip mate, met some right characters ...... very friendly in general I have to say. I've just taken on a job to deliver to Aberdeen, then the Kyle of Durness in the far north of the Highlands. Should be interesting to say the least, plenty of scope for inter-racial shenanigans Hope to see you up for a few matches, we could always divert up through York, on our way. Nee bother for you.
