Just saw on facebook we've apparently put an offer in for Jordon Mutch from Cardiff. It's probably bollocks but have to say if it does come off it will be a cracking piece of business imo.

I said on an earlier thread if we could sign one player from the three relegated teams this lad would be my first choice. Young, british, pacey, and has a hell of a shot on him. A better version of borini imo at a fraction of the price, gerrin!!

I'd be all for it, and while I doubt we've bid, I think he's the kinda player we'll be looking at.

He'd slot into our midfield nicely as the attacking part of the trio. good signing if it comes off, esp if Caulker comes with him.

I think we have decided to try a different approach and this lad fits the bill of hungry, hardworking good pro with a bit of ability to go with it. He impressed me whenever I saw him and a good addition.

Still hope Borini is number one target mind.

Im just watching the Sunderland - Cardiff 4-0 in between working.

He was always looking for the ball, mixing his passes and wanting to get forward.

He's capable of 5/10 goals a season so better than the midfield players we currently have.

    He's a winger & Mutch is a cm, isn't he?

We need cm's more than wingers currently

Aye noone can play either wing I believe and cause us **** loads of trouble with his pace. I think Mutch is okay, but though he played on the wing too?

Yeah I remember Noone causing us problems when we played them away

Maybe he can play on the wing, but when we beat them 4-0, he started in the middle

He did pretty well with assist and goals last year so im warming too him, would still like to put a bid in for Ross McCormack Personally, Would say wickham is our only goal scorer currently in that CF/ST role, so we need to improve, 29 goals last year for Ross

Sunderland have agreed a £1.5million deal for Cardiff midfielder Jordon Mutch, 22.

Mutch was Cardiff's top goalscorer last season and was not keen to drop back down to the Championship.

The club are looking to wrap up many deals early on, with Billy Jones and Jordi Gomez already signed.

Coup: Sunderland have agreed a £1.5m fee with Cardiff City to sign star midfielder Jordan Mutch
Two men who could be on their way out at the Stadium Light are Jack Colback and Adam Johnson.

West Ham are looking to sign academy graduate Colback, while Johnson is £5m target for Hull City.

Gus Poyet though, has recently penned a new contract.

Sunderland look set to complete their third signing of the summer transfer window already, with reports coming in that the Black Cats have agreed a fee with Cardiff City for Jordon Mutch.

The burly midfielder was one of the Bluebirds' bright sparks this season as the Welsh club dropped back down to the Sky Bet Championship after only one season in the top flight. It comes as no surprise that Mutch is on his way out of the Cardiff City Stadium, with a number of clubs taking notice of the midfielder finishing as his side's top scorer this season with 7 goals.

It is Sunderland that look like the most likely destination for the 22-year-old, with the Daily Mail reporting that the two clubs have agreed on a fee of £1.5m for the player.

If a move is completed within the next couple of days it will mark a very busy early transfer period for the Wearside club; Gus Poyet, who himself has signed a new contract, already bringing in both Billy Jones and Jordi Gomez, from West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic respectively.

Poyet is desperate to avoid another relegation dogfight next season and is seemingly hoping to do all his transfer business as early as possible to ensure the best preparation possible.

Sounds like a terrific deal for SAFC. Can't believe Cardiff just let him go like that.
