My hope is the cocky little southerner gets a good beating from the boy from north of Watford. Carl (The Cobra) Froch to knock out Groves round 6, 2 minutes 10 seconds. And yes Groves looks a mess boohoo. welcome to the big leagues.
Been fascinating watching all the build up. Groves has really irritated froch, he looks so uncomfortable. That said he's a cockney **** and danny dyer wants him to win so froch for me. Did anyone watch the Ben and Eubanks specials last night? Not seen the Benn one yet but Eubanks was brilliant. How do you want to be remembered chris? Even when I couldn't win, I still got up!!
If Groves was confident, he would't need to make himself look a cock to try to disrupt Froch's game plan. If Froch stays composed, he'll win. Fair play though, being a gobshite's dragged the crowds and the money in.
Froch for me. I was going to go, but the Club Wembley seats aren't in a great position for boxing, so I decided to watch it on TV instead. At least it's on Sky Box Office, I can't stand that Box Nation channel, they make you sign up, then you have to cancel a month later and they carry on charging you, claiming they have no record of you cancelling it. I knew Benn when I lived in South London, I was a massive fan of him as a fighter and he used to get us in everywhere for free.
Froch for me, I think he will be up for this fight this time, whereas the last one Groves did surprise him, as I am sure he felt he would win easily.
About a year ago there was a Sky Sports Special called The Gloves Are Off. It had Calzaghe, Collins, Roy Jones, Riche Woodhall and Eubanks all sat around the a table. Absolutely fascinating.
really hard to call this one!! Agree Froch wont underestimate groves again but at the same time, just because he is 'up for this one' wont make his hands faster or his footwork better! Im expecting the same as last time to an extent ie groves to dominate early then froch to start coming back into it, i watched the replay of froch v groves 1 the other night and when people say froch was coming back into the fight in the 7th 8th and 9th they are clueless. The fact is the 9th is the only round he had any joy upto that point. What makes it so exciting is it really is a 50/50 fight, so many if's and buts. If froch turns up and starts swinging early then it could be a quick froch win but if groves does the same it could be an quick groves win. Also despite what groves says, he will have used a lot of nervous energy up last fight and may last the distance much better this time. And any boxing fan will agree with me here 'sometimes boxing catches up with you and fighters suddenly look old' But one thing i will say, i want groves to win. Froch has no respect what so ever and absolutely loves himself way to much. Plus if we are honest, if it wasn't for his granite chin he would be distinctly average.
I reckon Groves will have him this time, he's desperate to do it, however I hope Froch wins. Groves is a dick head.
I want Groves to win but, But i think Froch is going to really hurt Groves this time, anybody know if i book the fight on my sky card can i take my card to a holliday cottage n put it in that box will it work?
You do realise Froch has just about the fastest hands in the business? Hence the nickname 'The Cobra'? I want to see Froch dismantle him bit by bit, smash him around the ring, then knock him out. Froch has fought far superior fighters to Groves.
For all the stick footballers get, boxers take bellendery in sport to a whole new level and rarely seem to get criticised for it. If any footballers acted like this they'd be hung drawn and quartered. Can't really see the appeal of two thugs hitting each other, don't really consider boxing a sport, certainly not one worth paying £15 to watch on telly.
I'm surprised that a lot are saying Froch after what happened in the first fight. Groves mullered him for 8 rounds, Froch had 90 seconds( at best) of half decent work in the 9th before one of, if not the , worst refereeing decisions in history. Age has caught up with Froch, I've stuck £60 on Groves to win inside the distance. I think they're both a pair of tools but I have to say Groves tattoo's mark him out as the better person. A gingerbread man I tell you! It's bordering on the sublime.
