Totally agree - anybody can get a Uni degree of one type or another but it doesn't mean it's worth the paper it's written on. They'd be much better off offering more opportunities in technical expertise.

Gutted about the Lib dems, was hoping for a total wipeout like the BNP. I can't wait to see them suffer greatly at the General elections because it will be brutal for them. I despise the Liberal Democrats. They have been a sewer party ever since the merger with the Social Democrats, whilst they where Liberals they still had a chance of re-emerging as the most respectable political party in Britain. But selling out to Democrat trash completely defecated over Liberal legacy.
I would say the European election proved otherwise. I think #UKIP success in the GE depends on what #UKIP do/don't do in September once the manifesto is released for public viewing. I got a feeling it's going to be a hit but we'll have to wait and see. Will definitely be interesting.
At the moment i tend to agree with this. I come from the SE England but even i was surprised by the level of support for UKIP. I know this happens but i've never witnessed such open opinion on this level. Normally people are quite reserved but even i picked up several days before the elections that UKIP were going to walk it and to be fair to them, they had to do absolutely sod all down here to get the vote. So what's going to happen if they start proper canvassing. Maybe for the GE, people might conform back to the normal two party vote but i think Lab/Con need to play this very carefully, otherwise they will piss off that 30% again. Ed did himself absolutely no favours this morning on National TV by not speaking of Europe, people want it discussed and if his apathy continues then it's going to be like prodding them voters with a stick. Hopefully they've learned the first lesson of not slagging off UKIP, despite what they might think, it's already bitten the main two parties and destroyed the LD's. I know it's all smiles for Farage but i bet Cameron is even having a sneaky wry smile knowing this all benefits the Conservatives while leaving Clegg to take the crap.
The quintessential British FPTP election system also goes against them. They will be lucky to hit 10% in a GE. Listen to your uncle Ciaran.
