He retired yesterday after playing 24 years for us, what a player, no matter what team you support, you have to stand up and admire him, he could've gone to Inter Milan in 2003 but he didn;t want to go to them, he won a lot of trophies with us as well. At no point in his career did he achieve world class quality. He's had a world class career but he was never one of the games great in terms of ability at any one stage.
Disagree the guy was unreal in his prime, problem is hes been playing so long after his prime people seem to have forgotten.

Was he ****. He was a quality player but wouldn't have got into a world XI. I guess it depends on your definition of world class.
