Yeah, and there are really three scenarios that lead to it happening. If they have information suggesting that it's a done deal, betting might be suspended, as it was when we hired Poch; when the odds were slashed and then suspended within an hour, that was when it became clear that it wasn't a random, dodgy rumour. If there's simply too much money coming in on Poch joining Spurs, it might be suspended. Or, as is a possibility here given the staggered times that they've suspended betting (some did yesterday, followed by more over the course of today) it could be purely a reaction to the earliest suspensions, resulting in more money moving to the places still taking bets, resulting in more suspensions. That's the hopeful scenario, because it could be as simple as one of the bookmakers getting spooked by a rush of money (possibly following the release of those pictures), leading others to follow suit.

I know what you mean but it depends on the big picture. If we really are selling our best players (and what Beefy has said suggests we are) then I can't blame him for going. He's been in that position before at Espanyol and I don't think it can have been much fun. I don't think a move to Spurs is a good idea though.

so we've already questioned how we'd feel if spurs don't want him and he stays by default.
what if spurs choose him and our board are then forced to make guarantees that lead poch to turn spurs down?

I think the problem may be that Poch wants to go. They are underperforming and have been for a while and if Redknapp could get them 4th, 5th then imagine what a good manager could do!!

Anyway, Nigel Farage spotted in Southampton tonight. Known for encouraging home grown talent. lol

I want Mauricio to stay, but if he wants to go, and that is a big if, then he should just go, and Spurs can just get on with it. This thing is just dragging on.

not sure they are. I don't think they have the right players. they sold most if not all of the gems that they picked up under jol and redknapp. for all his faults, redknapp picked up the odd world class player in his scattergun approach.

I don't think poch has shown he's the guy to get the best out of players unsuited to the premier league either. our misfits have remained misfits.

Who knows what is going on. It could be the board aren't willing to give him the transfer funds he wants.

It could well be. Something needs to be sorted soon. I was hoping Saints would get round to signing players this summer, rather than focusing on who we will sell or whether our manager will still be around. Never a dull moment...

Ok. I moved to Canada over 8 years ago, when I lived in the UK, no team could have contact with any player or manager who was under contract, unless they had permission to do so.
If they did they where charged with, bringing the game into disrepute,
So I just don't get it, Poch is under contract, so Spurs can F off!
Seems to me that, if another club wants a player, manager then they just tip off the national rags!

Simple reason: every team has contact with players/managers and their agents before making bids, and thus they have little interest in turning in other clubs for tampering because it'll only lead to their own tampering getting exposed.

I have always said, the formation of the Champions League, ruined the game!

It happens all the time. I can't think of many cases of the years where a team has been done for tapping up. I am surprised people think this doesn't happen.

If he goes, I really hope we have been thinking about plan B and C. My only other convern is the "togetherness" of the players. This is what has made is a good team.

Another point that I haven't seen anywhere is the lack of comment from MP on Adam and Luke... It's ok him telling the board (if he has) not to sell the best players but how much of an effort has he out in convincing them to stay. We'll never hear that but it would have been nice to have read a couple of comments by MP about trying to convince the players to stay as he believes we are on the verge of something special.
