We can't get a whole new squad in, that was our downfall last time we were in the Prem.

Flyer, don't forget we have Remy, Tarbs, M'bia and Granero to come back. Would sell Granero and keep the others unless silly money is offered.

We're not going to sign 17-18 players, even TF isn't THAT stupid. More likely it will be 7-8...

I think mbia is out of contract, there's no way taarabt or Remy will ever play for us again. Granero maybe but we still need a ****load of players.

Name me 10 players you'd keep that I haven't listed that are good enough for the PL.

If Palace can stay up, with Delaney and gabbidon in their squad, then you are being far too pessimistic !

Now would that fact surprise many on here - NO !!

Some huge decisions to be made over the next few weeks around who to offer new contracts to, then who we are after when the window opens.

And of course a lot depends on the manager. TF has talked about stability a lot recently, and at last we have developed some team spirit. I would not be surprised if a few more of those felt 'not good enough/too old' for the prem are offered at least another year. At the start of last season I thought our squad was easily strong enough to finish at least mid table, and at the beginning of this season I was convinced Palace didn't have a chance. There's more too it than the names in the squad, obviously.

That's irrelevant, they won't get rid of that many in one go otherwise we're back to square one. I'm well aware many may not be good enough but there will more likely be only half of those going, they'll try and keep some of the team spirit intact...

Palace signed 15 players in the summer alone, so not the best example to use against signing lots of players.

Ins: Stephen Dobbie (Brighton, undisclosed), Dwight Gayle (Peterborough, undisclosed), Jerome Thomas (West Brom, free), Jose Campana (Sevilla, undisclosed), Kevin Phillips (Blackpool, free), Elliot Grandin (Blackpool, free), Marouane Chamakh (Arsenal, undisclosed), Neil Alexander (Rangers, free), Florian Marange (Bordeaux, free), Jason Puncheon (Southampton, loan), Jimmy Kebe (Reading, undisclosed), Jack Hunt (Crystal Palace, undisclosed), Adrian Mariappa (Reading, undisclosed), Barry Bannan (Aston Villa, undisclosed), Cameron Jerome (Stoke, loan)

You say sign 7-8 only, that means you have to keep 10 more 30 somethings....who will have to replaced next summer anyway.
List the players you'd keep, its not irrelevant. Its a fact, so name them, Jenas, O'Neill, SWP, Dunne, Hughes, AJ etc you will have to offer them contracts if you only want to sign 7 more.

Now is the time to clean house and get a team we can keep for years.

I admit it won't be easy but if we resign 10 30 something's then we will have to replace them next season.

That will be two years of changing half the squad, I'd just rather do it now and get it over and done with.

No reason we can't extend some of the contracts of 30+ year olds for one year on reduced wages eg Bobby Zamora on reduced wages who has proved himself an excellent impact sub of late.

Would love to see Caulker and Snodgrass in as mentioned above.

Scott Sinclair might be worth a go if City are looking to get rid.

Lampard, Sinclair, Caulker, Snodgrass and a striker (if/when Remy goes) would be perfect to my mind.

I was thinking Zamora and hill with hill as 4th choice cb and Zamora on 25 k.

We are still going to have to sign a lot which is another reason why Redknapp shouldn't do it.
Forget the fact I don't rate him but isn't it daft to let him sign 15+ players and then he retires in 12 months, wouldn't you want the next manager to be able to build the team? Someone who will hopefully be here for years.

ffs Flyer on the rant again.

Everything is wrong, only his way, will succeed.

You cant bully people into submission, we have heard your opinion.

There is a sound approach, that says, too many recruits splits the dressing room.

Didn't you say Harry was going in summer no matter what?
Why now is he going in 12months.
If he keeps us up and we do half decent more investment will come so it will be to tempting for him to walk away in my opinion.
Stability is key to everything we have learnt that time and again over the years!

His contract is up in 12 months, I still think he's going now and does anyone want him to buy a new squad now and then leave a new manager with a squad he might not like and then have to change it again next summer?

Or is it best to get a new man and squad now and then some stability?

    This.

But only 4. One young PL quality CB, a quality defensive midfielder (assuming Mbia doesn't come back), a Rhodes esque striker, and a decent winger who can play on either side.

We don't want to disrupt the newfound team spirit, or dump a whole new layer of signings onto the squad. Augment the current side with a couple, then give them a crack at the PL. IF we're struggling in January, bring in 2 more.

The Mackie/derry/hill side that got promoted wasn't PL quality on paper. But in hindsight, I wish we'd stuck with the core of that, and only reinforced them with four or so quality signings.

Good move to sign Ravel, providing his nose isn't too bent out of shape after only being a bench warmer at Wembley and limited play in the Wigan matches, especially if he can continue to do tricks like this:-

But not this bunch, but we could consider Rhodes:-

    Just buy some pace
I don't care if it is an 18 year old boy or a 38 year old girl

We don't want a team full of plodders like Taarabt or Kranjcar
