At the time I was very annoyed with O'Neill, but with the benefit of hindsight he made a big sacrifice for the team, and his timing was perfect Another few yards further forward and a penalty could've sunk us given how little we'd tested the Derby keeper up until then
I don't think it was a clear goalscoring chance but I'd like to see it again. There was enough doubt to give him a yellow.
Here are some fuzzy highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYYWHnbB6ww Re the subject of the thread, here's something I saw on twitter: "'They only had ten men' banner hanging on a bridge above the A52 into Derby this evening " please log in to view this image
I think, on looking at the highlights, that you're right Flyer - dubious red card Still, who cares now??
In my opinion he took one for the team - did what was required to keep us in the game. 1-0 down and it could have been no way back.
Yep, red card all day but he knew what he was doing and it worked out. Top man for me, no ego involved and was the first to celebrate at the final whistle. Personally I wasn't keen when he signed but am happy to eat humble pie.
A red was harsh and a yellow was fair. It was not a goal scoring opportunity. The Forest Fans also stuck up a banner at junction 24 saying ''Zamora... QPR 1 Nil.'' as well as the ''They only had ten men'' banner.
