This is what worries me. Lewis just needs to finish the race but patience isn't his forte. He can beat Nico on tracks where you can overtake but at Monaco he risks another dnf which he can't afford. Lots of mind games going on now. Still, it has spiced things up a bit and RB and Ferrari must be feeling pleased.
I'm 50/50 on the initial incident, but think he knew exactly what he was doing when he put the car in reverse. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a ploy to say to Hamilton - 'Who isn't hungry now?'
Yup he just needs to beat him tomorrow and he would of really got into his head. Clean air, gets to stop first for undercut, impossible to overtake him. The only way Nico is going to lose this if he utterly messes up his start and Hamilton does an Alonso style one.
He's quiet today. He can't have a go because Hamilton isn't on pole so race may not be boring, and Rosberg has been aggressive so he can't have a go at that either. Must be something Webber related to moan about, surely?
only if you've already locked up first! he was wiggling the wheel on entry to the braking zone, thus pre-loading up the front and inducing a lock up IMO For me, it was clear as day deliberate. But i'm glad he did it, adds a little bit of spice!
I can't vote because there isn't an "accidentally-on-purpose" option. Do I think the mistake was premeditated? No. Do I think the best drivers will react quickly to turn a mistake to their advantage? Yes. Do I think that Sky (hollow) and BBC (controversial) try to create storms in tea cups? Absolutely! Racing drivers have been doing this for decades and, for my money, it's all part of what makes Formula 1 more than just a sport. What is a bit worrying is Lewis' reaction. Hiding behind shades and trying to sound convinced that his pole position was deliberately sabotaged looks like one of his old weaknesses, which a really crafty team mate could exploit. He should just shrug his shoulders, put it down to experience, and get on with racing for points.
How can you have a hollow pole? Whichever way you slice it, he's starting from the front. Hollow.... yeah right!
why? because he was fast on a clear track? Monaco is a Rosberg track because it's a track it's hard to overtake on so he's fairly safe from scratching his mums paintwork. I'm hoping the bad feeling between them is real and not feigned for added interest simply because a pissed off Rosberg might show some balls and actually race for a change, rather than drive around hoping for pit strategies and mechanical failures to bump him up the grid. My wish for tomorrow is for Rosberg to lead, then at some point in the race to leave the door slightly ajar somewhere and Lewis to attack with a 'death or glory' move, and we shall see what we shall see. If the ill will is genuine it'll be the first time I'm unable to predict the outcome
