Anyone heard about a falling out between Adam El-Abd and Cotts? http://www.bristolcity.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=359764 Could his days at Ashton Gate be numbered?
I hope he isn't off as I don't think we have seen the real El-Abd (well I hope not anyway) How can a player come from a club with such high praise and be a complete donkey for us. Doesn't add up, maybe a pre season and a good run in the league will see us with a better defender. Hope it pays off as we're stuck with him for another 3 years yet !
How many players have we signed to join "Club Med Ashton Gate' that came here and failed badly based on their previous club's hype? Quite a few I suspect! If he has a problem with the manager then I suggest he has other problems as well and should move on asap!
He needs to have an intense preseason to get him up to match fitness. That is the only way he can fit back into the team as it was evident this season that he was lacking match fitness.
I believe it is fairly obvious that SC and El And are not on the same wavelength based not on the fact that he was taken off at half time, but because he did not even get to sit on the bench for the remainder of the season. SC and Parrish clearly fell out and that is why EP was loaned out and is now on the transfer list. SC is obviously one not to be crossed! Perhaps finally City have their own version of SAF!
After all the BHA hype El Abd has looked like a frightened schoolboy at times. If he's not part of the managers plans, then ship him out soonest
Perhaps after ten years (I think?) at BHA he has just struggled to come to terms with a move and relocation of his family. I will give him the benefit of doubt and hope it all comes together this season. If, however, it is a major bust up for whatever reason then ship him out. We cant afford to be paying top wages to players to not even get on the bench.
I think some people need time to settle down - as Calidicot says he had 10 years at Brighton, so maybe struggling to come to terms with new surroundings. Important pre-season for him - hopefully we will see the best of him
Perhaps the significant thing is that while Parrish has been transfer listed, El Abd has not. SC giving him time to settle into new surroundings for the first time in Abd's career?
Been woeful in the first team this season, against Wolves he was happy to just let their wingers put the ball into the box and was eventually dropped. Also, saw him in an U21 game (possibly Cardiff) and he looked no better, just played route one football and didn't look particularly solid either
Al Bad has been useless for us, but going on how the Brighton fans praised him I'm prepared to wait to see if Al Abd comes through. However if SC has had a run in with him, do we really need a bad apple amongst us? If this is true then I would like to see him moved on.
