Just thinking of a few people who are missing today, feel free to add There are quite a few people going to the match today because of the generosity of Stan the Man (SB73) who had to go on a work trip but passed over his numbers for others to use. Thank you Stan...... He is only flying back today I hope the plane has WiFi, Thank you Stan. The Aussies, the Kiwis...who I hope will enjoy there day together But mostly, BrixtonR, who died just over a year ago. When he left us, the club he loved was not in a good place. In the last year, it has pulled itself round, there appears to be a team. Brixton would have loved to be there today
Nice post Beth. I think that Goose has said that Nuts hasn't been able to get time off to come over for the match, it would have been great to see him again. We don't hear enough from you mate. I have been thinking of my mate Ben who posted as BennyBoyR's on the Rangers Boys. He died in a tragic motorbike or moped accident on holiday in Thailand nearly two years ago. He would have loved today. I spoke to Patti during the week, she says hi to everyone and assures us that Brix will be with us at Wembley. Those who met Deon and Lou all those months ago on "Brixton Day" will be pleased to hear that there are expecting a baby; Brixton would have been a grandfather.
I'd like to add the name of the man who got me into football and supporting QPR as a lad. My mates dad, Bill. For me, the man who started me on this fantastic journey, and ultimately got me involved in our fantastic club. RIP Bill Never forgotten
This one's for my Mum & Dad who were season ticket holders way before I was born & took me & my brother to Wembley in '67. They had a healthy expectation of the worst tinged with hope for the better - Come on R's, surprise them for once eh?!
Nice thread. My dedication is to my Dad who took an overawed 9 year old boy to Wembley in 1967. We attended pretty much every home between then and his death in 2008. A true Irish West London Ranger who would have loved today. I will hopefully see Beth and others in Hennessy's about 12 assuming I can get in the door.
I will be fighting back the tears at kick off, Wembley 86 was the last game my dad and I went to QPR match together.
Great thread, Beth .............. great post people, all the best to you all and regardless where you are in the world, hope everyone enjoys their time and our team. Aussie
A touching post Beth and I am sure all those guys will be cheering with their blue and white colours on. Again have a great day everyone at Wembley and every R's fans wherever you are
Thank you Beth for the thought, and given the valedictory turn the thread has taken I would like to stress that I am still alive, but will remember my Dad who took me to my first R's game in 1972 and bought us season tickets together for 7 years after that. Obviously I am on line, praying that I can find a stream, but doubtful that the bandwidth will allow it. Somewhere over the Urals at the moment.....
