Newcastle United will entertain Spanish side Real Sociedad at St. James' Park in their final pre-season friendly of the summer.
The La Liga outfit will come to Tyneside on Sunday, 10th August, for a 1.30pm kick-off and it will be United's only home fixture of a busy warm-up period.

As well as away games on British soil against Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town, the Magpies will also travel to New Zealand and Germany, where they will play two matches on each tour.
And Newcastle's preparations for the 2014/15 campaign are completed with the visit of Real Sociedad, who finished seventh in La Liga last season and played in the Champions League, facing Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk in the group stage of the competition.
Sociedad are managed by 36-year-old Jagoba Arrasate Elustondo and boast ex-Arsenal forward Carlos Vela and former Real Madrid man Sergio Canales among their ranks. They were founder members of La Liga in 1928, and their longest spell in the top flight was for 40 seasons from 1967-2007.
Ticket details for the fixture will be released on nufc.co.uk in due course.

Hope they are ****. We'll only have a team of 9 to field by that stage.

Spaniard side Real Sociedad have been confirmed as United's only home pre-season opponents, visiting St. James' Park on Sunday 10th August at 1.30pm.

After twice facing Athletic Bilbao on Tyneside during the Premier League era, it's the turn of their Basque rivals - who finished seventh in the Primera Liga last season.

It remains be seen whether Real's top scorer Antoine Griezmann (pictured) is still at the club by August, with interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the winger who is in France's World Cup squad.

The side from San Sebastian become the first Spaniards to appear at Gallowgate since Valencia back in 2008 and entertained United on home turf way back in 1924.

In stark contrast to previous seasons, United have got their act together this time round to firm up an eight match first team pre-season programme as follows:

@ Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand, 7.30pm. See sale details below.
