French Five Up For Sale at NUFC?

Five Newcastle players are up for sale with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Massadio Haidara heading the list.

French media organisation Mercato365 state that according to their information, Newcastle have made five French imports available, with Hatem Ben Arfa, Sylvain Marveaux and Gabriel Obertan competing the list.

newcastle playersIf the information out of France proves reality then it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise, with all five seemingly not in the manager’s plans as first choice players for one reason or another.

However, what it would do is blow a big hole in Newcastle been seen as a preferred move for ambitious players in France, with careers brought to a shuddering halt via a move to Tyneside.

While there had already been strong rumours/indications that Ben Arfa, Marveaux and Obertan were not wanted, the cases of Mapou and Haidara are strange ones to add to the list.

Haidara has been given next to no chance despite looking head and shoulders ahead of the likes of Dummett in terms of ability, while Mapou has played all across the back four and never really been given a chance to stake a claim with a proper run in his true position at centre-back.

In summary the players have made the following number of Premier League starts this past season;

Haidara (3), Marveaux (2), Ben Arfa (13), Obertan (0) and Mapou (17).

While Newcastle United aren’t the biggest payers in England, it could be very difficult for United’s French players to find new clubs back over the channel.

While PSG and Monaco are privately financed, the rest of the French clubs struggle financially compared to their English counterparts, while an added problem is that the tax situation is far better for French players over here, rather than in their native country.

The French honeymoon period looks most definitely at an end and there is an obvious risk of success stories such as Sissoko and Debuchy also been targeted this summer, as clubs look to recruit quality players like never before with the finances available.

Wouldn't miss any of them but seems a tad harsh on Haidara. He has looked limited but is only young.

 

They are all still on the retained list. 9 definitely released.
Shola, Richardson, Newton, Gosling, De Yong, Steven Logan, Brandon Miele and Jonathan Mitchell. Remy of course back to QPR. Obviously others may go if the right offers come along but how is Obertan's name not among those released?????

 

Definitely deserves a chance IMO.

 

I think they are all under contract and Mike will want £££ for them... plus they will want a big payoff if their contracts are terminated.

I am sure I read somewhere (but I cannot locate it, I shall keep trying) that Haidara has a clause in the purchase contract of a fee after a certain number of appearances and it is quite high. A couple of million.

IMO he looks like a beast and we should be keeping him. MYM for me is to lightweight for the premiership. He can play pretty football but he gets bullied in the premiership.

The rest get rid.

I get the impression that Pardew is a duplicitous, snivelling, snidey little cnt who has managed to convince Ashley that the players brought in by other people have been the problem. "Ain't me, guv'nor" seems to be the flavour of fcking everything right now and it tastes bitter.

****ing hell what happened to Jack Collison. He was supposed to be the next big thing out of their academy - 25 now and released. Be a good signing for a championship team. Did he not do ok on loan at Wigan? Bar that penalty miss of course.

 

Obertan has a contract that runs until summer 2016, so unless he is sold or we pay him up, he's going nowhere.

 

Can't say I'll be sad to see any of the five go.
Haidara maybe, but for me he is limited for a PL full back.

Its alright wanting rid of them, but, i think we'll struggle to shift them all, if we want paid a fee.

 

Any luck Pardew can bring in his signings, start horrifically badly next season, his players - no excuses then the **** gets sacked. Hopefully anyway.
