QPR midfielder Joey Barton and controversial Arsenal fan Piers Morgan have been booked to appear on the BBC’s flagship politics programme – Question Time.

The footballer, who has previously played for Manchester City and Newcastle, has courted controversy in recent years, and was jailed for committing assault and affray in his younger days.

Morgan has often been in the news for the wrong reasons, whether it is his rants about Arsenal or his staunch defence of former England batsman Kevin Pietersen.

Neither are backward about coming forward and the pair have already done battle on social network Twitter in the past.

Barton’s first assignment is to try and get QPR promoted back to the Premier League, with Rangers facing Derby County at Wembley on Saturday.

The show will be aired on May 29 from the newly-rebuilt Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal, which opens to the public on June 4.

I'll watch that with great interest. I know it's wrong, but if think the bloke is fantastic! In fact I wish he was still here.

Further than that, I'd have a team of mavericks. You know the likes of Barton, Savage, Bellamy, that daft sod who played for Fulham and Wigan...... Probably not win anything but it'd be canny entertainment! Anybody else?

Jimmy Bullard was forced to quit football last October and admits that left a painful hole in his life. No football, no competition, no buzz, no fun. The word ‘depressing’ even creeps into the conversation, but he retracts it quickly.

This midfield terrier was once handed a call-up to the England squad, but was forced to conclude last autumn that those days had long gone.

Bullard, however, has now found a new purpose, something to replace what he calls the ‘buzz’ of football: he could soon be making a living as a professional golfer.

Never too late to start something new.
