This is just a bit of fun really

But following on from the success that Wilshere had this season after stepping up from the reserve/youth team.

I was wondering which of the current Arsenal young guns or even arsenal reserve team players are you guys most looking forward to see or are thinking will have the biggest impact on the first team squad for this coming season.

Do you think players like Lansbury? Emmanuel-Thomas? Eastmond? Watt? will get there chance to shine? Maybe you think Vela or Denilison will have a big impact on the first team...

Maybe you think its gonna be someone else I havent mentioned - maybe you think our youth set up is too weak to allow for these players to make the first team...

Heres your chance to have your say

I think only Lansbury has a career in the premiership. Vela, Denilson, Rosciky and Eboue (if they leave) will have careers in other countries. JET, Eastmond, Afobe, Aneke will probably be journeyman championship type players. Gibbs will stay with us I think.

interesting - see i don't think Lansbury has much of a career with us - i see him being a little like Jamie O'Hara and doing the business for smaller clubs in the bottom half of the table but not really being able to step up for the bigger clubs...

Eastmond or JET or Emmanuel Frimpong i think at least ONE of them has to make the step up surely?.. Hopefully?... Right?...

Also I don't know if anyones ever seen him play - but Luke Freeman - young kid - has scored a LOOOTTTTT of goals in the reserves and i saw him play when he was a kid for gillingham - he looks really good - although next year might be too early for him...

I wasn't asking whose's going to be the next wilshere - because he is a talent that doesnt happen every year.

I was asking WHO will be the next player to make the step up and make an impact in the first team squad - example being JET coming into the squad and the wenger selling Rosciky as a result... just as an example...

    Francis Coquelin.
He will be the perfect player alongside players like Wilshere and Ramsey in a middle 3. Probably too soon to expect him to force his way in to the team next season, but could play a part.

    Pedro Botelho
I think he will play a part in the forthcoming season. Its a big step up from the second tier in Spain, but he has consistantly improved during his 3 and a half years in Spain.

Ryo Miyaichi looks the real deal, another loan likely next season, but wouldn't let anyone down if he did get the opportunity.

Anyone seen how Coquelin is doing at Lorient? Heard he wasn't exactly setting the world alight.

Coquelin played very well at Lorient. He was used in various positions, right back, right midfield, centre midfield. Their manager was full of praise for him.
He had Eden Hazard in his pocket when Lille could only get a draw v Lorient.
Did he set the world alight? No, probably not, but he isn't that sort of player.

I was not a fan of Coquelin before he went to Lorient. I felt he had no chance of making it, was overshadowed in our reserves. Wenger/Banfield moving him to right back also did not highlight Frannys ability, and of course he suffered for it in the FA Cup against Stoke.
However, from what I have seen of Coquelin at Lorient he has made huge progress in the last 12 months.

I think he is going to play in a youth tournement in July/August for France, so this will hinder his chances of forcing his way into Wengers plans in pre-season so another loan is likely I think.
