Amalfitano set for the exit

Although a muscle problem saw him sit out Dijon's final game of the season on Friday night, Romain Amalfitano has reportedly done enough during his season-long loan period for talks on a permanent transfer to be opened.

The 24 year-old winger was a free transfer arrival at SJP back in July 2012, having allowed his contract with Reims to expire after helping them gain promotion to Ligue 1.

Sighted in pre-season games for United, Amalfitano made his competitive bow during a 1-1 draw against Greek side Atromitos - the first of four Europa League outings.

A series of lack-lustre showings in those games however failed to see him blooded domestically and following some some equally under-whelming reserve team outings, he was made available for loan ahead of last season.

Agreeing a season-long switch to French second tier side Dijon, Romain made 27 league and cup appearances and netted twice as the Owls ended up finishing in sixth.

 

Yeah, but we might as well sign up his brother.

 

Won't be a miss that's for sure.
