Either you dreamt it or someone was talking bollocks. Who the **** called for a price increase? The club doesn't do anywhere near enough locally to bring fans in, this has been going on for years. I and others have been banging on about sorting this out all season. You raise prices when your product is in demand. When you're struggling to sell out one of the League's smallest grounds you should be looking to fill it, not losing even more fans by increasing prices when there's **** all demand.
He may have proposed the name change to make money, and without going back over a very long story it turned out to be bullshit and nothing more. We can't fill our small stadium now, any revenue raised by the higher prices could easily be wipped out by those who do not renew. As said so many time's he needs to find a marketing team to sell Hull City The Tigers as premier league, cup finalist's, and Europa cup participants not some mickey mouse league 2 outfit.
Actually Balkan we sold out quite a number of times during the season . Those who want tradition well let's get back to when our kop was bunkers behind the goal at boothferry park . with any move its impossible to please every one though for me I love the idea of being behind the goal ( but not in the south stand ) If the price increase makes it £28 a game that's still cheaper then lots of other clubs. ...... But yes it is a huge negative that some fans might not be able to afford to go , i think there is a pay monthly scheme but not sure how that works out .
No but it does make the payment more manageable spread out over 12 months rather than all in one hit. Try to think a bit more before calling someone else an idiot.
Of course it doesn't make it any cheaper doveston NEVER SAID IT DID YOU IDIOT. but hopefully it might just make it easier for supporters to pay by instalments
All the best, I have been through it several times. It's a way of removing deadwood from an organisation. Very unsavoury process.
The moving of the away fans is nothing to do with the name change, it was something AP wanted to do, PD wanted to do and NT wanted to do and NT actually got the ball rolling on it by getting himself onto the Safety Advisory Group to move this forward. I realise that some in E1-E3 won't be happy with being moved, but I do think it's likely to have a positive impact on the support in the ground, so personally I welcome it. The ticket pricing is a completely different issue, as I think it's more likely to generate empty seats, than it is to generate extra revenue. We were warned of a potential ticket price hike if we didn't agree the name change, which we didn't, but it looks like we're getting the price hike in addition to proceeding with more name change nonsense, which is the worst of all worlds. I believe that AA fell out with the council, then he fell out with CTWD, now he's fallen out with the fans as a whole, simply because he believes he should be blindly supported, whatever idiotic nonsense he comes out with.
And yet you chose to tie them into the same opening post, almost like you didn't want a positive spin on the Allams doing what most have banged on about for ages. Or am I too cynical
They're only both in the OP because both were confirmed to me at the same time, I've always made it clear that I think moving the away fans is a good thing.
Your comment is just pure speculation and IMHO is an attempt to derail the thread. Have you thought that this coming seasons ticket prices are inline and still cheaper than most premier league clubs, last year it was championship prices. Last season the club needed all the support it could get, this season its about making money and really benefiting from being in the premier league. One positive out of this is having hired more staff for my business, next season I'll be able to get to games. With ticket prices going up hopefully it means I can get one.
I'm more arsed about having to move than I am the price increase. Don't really fancy paying extra for a seat behind the goal. Might have to take a chance and try move further into the East stand. I'm pretty sure most will have the same idea though.
I was expecting Allam to say 'I could have kept it down, but the hooligan minority have cost you all'.
I'm similar. There's a really good group built up around us that'll now be scattered around the ground. If the aim was to decrease the opportunity for away fan support, upper west's the place, but they can't upset the prawn sandwich and the hopeless plod we've got couldn't cope. Nothing we can do about it, it's just two more events in the list of considerations when I decide if the match day experience is still worth it. As people drift away, the next name change vote looks more ominous.
