I too don't like Poyet and certainly don't want him as a possible replacement...I want MP to STAY!
The cost of compensation for getting another manager from another club, agents fees eyc etc should be rolled up and put in a package to keep MP with us and stop all this messing about so we can move on

I think Poyet is an excellent manager and I was pretty confident Sunderland would stay up when he was appointed (a lot more comfortably mind). He did a fantastic job at Brighton and they played a possession football which was incredibly rare in league one and with a reasonably mediocre side took them up with a massive points total. We even adopted his tactic of playing the ball short from the goalkeeper and reduced the hoof up to Rickie.

Just like a number of people here I don't like the guy. He is slimy and distrustful. Has a win at all costs mentality which oversteps the line.

Frank de Boer now into 2/1 for the Spurs job on Betfair. Our man is still favourite but has drifted slightly to go odds against for the first time in a few days.

(I'm clutching at straws here, in the absence of any actual info).

Yeah, his odds seem to have shortened a bit everywhere. Not much between them now.

There is actually no real proof that Mauricio has even been approached.

Surely only one will be correct as one day Pochettino will leave - maybe when he bows out for his Fergie like retirement?!

Nope. It's all eye-winks, little nods, speculation and guessing. Not exactly anything to pin anxiety on.

Definitely not. Bottom of the list. Would rather have Pardew and I can't stand Pardew.

I wouldn't go for him. Bit of a one-season wonder and I've heard some bad things about him as a coach.

Adkins > Poyet. Do we want Adkins back?

Poyet's teams don't play free flowing attractive football. They play aggressive win at all costs football. People seem to forget how Brighton played against Saints in L1 and Championship. Remember the Lambert sending off? Remember the Tarrico sending off and the 'bribe' gesture. Remember the last game at the Withdean as mentioned. Remember the Gaston followed by Lovren injuries. The last example there when we were outplaying them by a mile up to half time, he got stuck into his side and they came out and kicked us off the park.

We have had our years of watching that type of football from our fondly remembered managers Branfoot and Sturrock.

Poyet is a modern version of Allardyce with a focus on niggle and foul. He just doesn't hoof it quite as often.

Wasn't Redknapp odds on favourite to get the England job?
