I think that the media have completely miscalculated on racism in regard to UKIP.They think that by highlighting things that Farage says like not wanting to live next door to a house full of Romanian men this will put people off voting UKIP. Well I have to say that is not what I am hearing from the public.A lot seem to hold similar views.
Sometimes it's difficult to believe this - are people really that mindless? Then you get this: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...t-nearly-everything-survey-shows-8697821.html And you realise the Daily Mail really is terrifying
That picture sickens me. I don't know how proactive the authorities are about dealing with stuff like this over there? Here, at least, we would make an effort to track this idiot and deal with 'it' appropriately.
It's pretty outrageous how many people will ignore or avoid the facts so they can keep believing what ever they want to believe. They make a great point about the politicians. So much is being put into image and making the leaders likable that the policies and facts that the, public actually need just get lost. It's creating a poorly informed electorate and that's the most dangerous kind. As for UKIP , they're just trying to take advantage of the void being left by those that are disenchanted with the 2 main parties. The problem is they're getting all this media attention so people actually notice them. Personally I have no faith on the Tories or Labour so I'm going to vote green. Hopefully enough people feel the saame way and we finally get some change, rather than the same old we've had for the last 20 years. Uh, sorry for the essay, politics just get me so wound up at the moment!
There is just no place in world for scum like that, If it was in england i bet FIFA would be putting sanctions on us.
The trouble with The Greens is that they are almost to a person totally nuts.Their policies would bring about a falling off a cliff in economic terms and the people who would get hurt most would be the vulnerable. You can't just change a system overnight like that.
The trouble is there's no party with the answers 99% of politicians seem to go into politics to feather their own nest. Career politicians are the worst, David Cameron has never got a job on his own in his life (for example) all bloody family connections etc. Until we only allow people to govern us who have actually worked in the "real world" BEFORE they go into politics and make it easier for people with experience to get into it we will continue to have these smarmy polished twats that don't know **** about life at the pointy end!
Whilst I like the fact that if you're a member of the Green's you get to vote on all their policies, I can't see them changing significantly. It also means that people with zero knowledge on a topic can vote on a related policy. The other problem I find is that their science policies (being in science it's an easy thing for me to judge on) are completely unworkable/illogical, so I can't see why I should trust their fiscal policies, etc.
As a resident in Spain I must say i have never encounted racisim, trust me if this lady had acted like that down our ground she would have been thrown out with a flea in her ear. Lots of Spanish don't like the Moroccans, but that relates to the civil war when Franco shipped his Moroccan forces over to Spain, they were a rag tag army with no discipline, no morals, and couldn't give a s### who they killed, in the battle for Cuenca Franco ordered his Moroccan force to stay back and shoot anyone retreating from the battle, which evidently they took great delight at.
