Just wondered if there was any news on him going before the final. All gone a bit quiet on that front and where we not supposed to find out on Friday?
They are not shifting on this, according to the last report I saw they are insisting he joins their squad...
What's the punishment if we don't let him go, anyone know? Considering how much it's worth to us by getting to the prem, wonder if it's worth taking the punishment on the chin and keeping him anyway.
I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that the punishment would be all on Yun's shoulders. Could effectively end his international career before it's even really begun. I'm not sure how the club would play it either, they'd probably let him make the decision.
It's outrageous that this can be allowed to reach this point. I would suggest that fifa should do something about it but we know what a corrupt lot they are and we'd need to give a backhander to someone. Maybe we should send Rosie with a brown envelope round her neck like a St Bernard with a barrel.
He would be ineligible to play and thus the result could be overturned if we won. That would be typical. It really looks like he desperately wants to play at wembley.
Its just our luck to get to play-off final in a World Cup year and have this nonsense occur. Shouldnt the FA of applied the same ruling that they have to the Champions League final. There is so much more at stake in the play-offs imo.
If he does go, I don't really want him back tbh. Now is when we need him, we've paid his wages all year. Not ****ing south Korea. Tough spot for the lad but you don't walk out on a playoff final whoever you are.
Perhaps we would be in a better position for the talks if we had played him this season rather than ignoring him. I expect that South Korea feel that we are taking the p**s wanting him now just because BAE has put his country before us. If we don't get permission from the SK FA he can't play next Saturday. it is their choice not ours & not the players.
Its not his choice, he will still not be allowed to play if they want him and he refuses. Its the world cup too, not some pointless friendly.
I understood he had to report to the squad on the 25th? On the basis we play on the 24th and hes on a plane to wherever he needs to be that night after the Final then its a storm in a bloody teacup?
There is a 19th to 24th rest period, only players who play in the cl final are exempt. Its to stop summer leagues running and of course no one cares about the small clubs hence why the play off final was ignored. We can strike back by refusing to release him for friendlies.
I recon he'll be able to play. They'll talk it out and realise it'll be no harm to let him play in this game. There was a fear in the South Korea management team that it was set a predecent and players would not turn up on time in future. I think that's a bit of paranoia. The other players would fully understand him having to play in his club team's important cup game. I can't imagine anyone thinking "well, if Yun doesn't have to turn up then I'm going to stay home and play xbox."
The problem is he's their only fit LB and they'd be in a bit of bother if he broke his leg. I think he must be playing as I highly doubt he'd go through all this for a sub.
I think it's more to do with the fact that he's our only LB after Clinton Hill. Really, the South Korea FA should be giving more respect to QPR. His form, training and wellbeing have been looked after at QPR since he joined. If he plays for them and plays well, it would be largely due to QPR. He doesn't belong to the SK FA.
I think he's been treated horribly by the manager, he's only been used as a last resort, even hill had to tell Redknapp to sub him in the semi. I don't blame them, the rules are the rules. I don't blame us either. I just feel sorry for Yun who could be robbed of playing in the biggest game of his career and perhaps his only shot at Wembley.
He made such an impact in the semi it would be great to have that option in the final as it will create chances. Ridiculous all this time we've been saying on here that he should play and now there's concern he may not be available.
