They were hacking them left right and centre that second half. Davies, hudd and Livermore should all have had pens given against them, meyler too.
Looking at the Hull team, and bench, I can't see anything but another season of concern about relegation. Even with the two cup-tied players they have a very weak squad and some poor players, especially considering Europe. They carried on their current league form by conceding 3 goals, their average over the last month, and never looked like defending that lead. They look as though they'll need 7 or 8 players better than they have now starting with the goalkeeper. I can't see their owner funding that. Being in a council owned ground, they share with rugby, isn't an attractive proposition for a new owner so they may be stuck with him. The second season syndrome will hit them and Bruce doesn't have the nous to change things when they go wrong. He stood watching, way too long, when it was obvious Wenger had altered things and Arsenal were going on to win. After being handed a final place, on a plate, it was surprising to see Hull allow the chance to slip away.
I think they'll really struggle next season. A weak squad, constant wet Thursday night Europa League games, travelling to little known places before week-end games. I can see disaster looming for them !
Bruce never had a plan B .. that's his downfall. He could be a top top manager if he could sort that side of his tactical game (or lack of it)
Bruce needs a fortune to not only take Hull to the next level but to have the depth to compete in 4 compertisions. We know what happens when Bruce is given lots money. Can't see it going well for them.
same boat as every body else down at the foot ,squads will need a good overhaul ,except euro football is no longer a pipe dream for them ,good luck to them with it ,rather it them than us its going to put a strain on things with injuries and such like it could well turn out to be a costly nightmare for them.
Apart from the extra 21 games potentially Stu. That's an extra half season. If they go out in the group stage of Europa they've still got an Extra 12 games to play. They not in the same boat at all, they need more investment than the others or they'll sink without a trace.
the same boat squad wise i meant bry ,they will have to have more cover than before as well for these games ,imo it can only be good for teams like us for them to have that extra pressure ,as i have always said its a double edged sword if you are not one of the bigger teams gone are the teams like forest and villa doing it with a small squad
Hull are a club at odds with itself ....... various issues will drag on involving the owner/fans/council/FA/manager etc. Being virtually given a final appearance won't gloss over that or Bruce's inevitable end of season slump. It appears the owner wanted the council etc to gift him the stadium site, kick out the rugby and allow him to make other changes to the club name etc. He doesn't appear to take kindly to not getting his own way. The problem is that he has little to offer a potential buyer ..... ... a small traditionalist fanbase, a low profile & a shared low capacity stadium that doesn't belong to the club. The low gate receipts mean the owner has to be committed and I don't believe he is, if I'm wrong he'll need to give Bruce around £30/40 million to spend. And we all know where that leads ........
Exactly smug, they've got debts too. I can them nose diving unless they bow out of Europa quickly. Makes me think of what a precarious position we would have been in had we qualified, and although I did want to qualify, it wouldn't have been any where near the right time to be having a go at that competition, especially given how thin our squad is. Hull may lack quality but we lack numbers, it would have been a nightmare for us I reckon. Dodged a bullet no matter how much I wanted it.
Either way Bruce has what he's always looking for ..... an excuse. He couldn't wait to interrupt the interviewer yesterday to whinge about the referee, injuries, fitness etc. Then the fat idiot said, "But this isn't the time to whinge!"
Lets hope our forecasts come to fruition next season lads, it is a shame that he stayed up this year, if we hadn,t been so bloody generous he'd be gone back were he belongs. If we could turn the clock back would anybody take the six points from Hull instead of Newcastle, its a tough one, but interesting to ponder the consequences. I personally wouldn't as I think it was only a stay of the inevitable execution, roll on next season.
We have no debts, other than to the owner, who put as his money in as loans, as the only tax efficient way to do it if you have any intention of ever getting any of it back.
Why would anybody want that? Newcastle are our rivals. Hull are just an irritant. They'll be relegated next year and put back where they belong. Back in the Championship with their championship ground, championship squad and championship following. Hull don't know what a true Derby is, well most clubs don't for that matter.
That's debt mate. Look at Ashley at Newcastle, a debt to the chairman had completely brought a big club to a complete stand still and they'll almost certainly be joining us in a relegation battle next year. Our chairman converted his investment into shares. We owe him nowt. He owns larger stake. No loans to our owner what so ever.
