Not sure if this has already been said. FourthOfficial on twitter. People on here may have heard of him. He actually does get things right and not just stories from the papers.

    From earlier today:

Keiren Westwood has pre-agreed a 4 year deal with Sunderland which will go through on 1st July #SAFC #CCFC

    and

Seb Larsson has pre-agreed to sign for Sunderland also, just a slight problem with his contract which will be sorted #SAFC

    --------------------------------------------

I know it was looking like we'd get them anyway but this is a bit more evidence to show we've got our men. Both good signings from Bruce. Larsson has a deadly set piece on him which will come in very useful and I've heard heard some promising things about Westwood although I haven't properly seen him play.

I've recently been following this guys Twitter account and posted the Westwood story earlier in the Grapevine thread. As you say, two quality signings for the princely some of £0 in transfer fees. A great bit of business that leaves Steve Bruce's war chest intact for the anticipated higher profile signings to come.

2 Good signings if they come off, looks like curtains for Gordon unless he proves his fitness and has a storming second half of the season, trouble is can he dislodge the Mig or Westwood.

Larsson also adds something to our squad with his set peice delivery and wing play.

I've been following this FourthOfficial dude on Twitter.
Not sure how reliable he is TBH. He seems to just re-hash old stories from the press.

You're probably still favourites, but I thought I'd let you know that the Yorkshire Post seems to be suggesting with some confidence that we're also in talks with Westwood and have been since late last season. We've also accepted a suspiciously low bid for our 1st choice (and currently only) GK and have made a statement saying it's in the best interests of the club.

that seems a bit funny to me, young kasper was good last year i'd have thought you would've tried to tie him down. i can't see westwood turning down premier league after he's been touted for so long but hung on at coventry, but stranger things have happened

That is a low bid, £1.25m wasn't it? Are Leeds that strapped for cash? As you say, accepting a bid for Casper must mean you have another keeper lined up, I just don't think that it's Westwood though.

I read the other day that the hold up with Larsson is the length of contract, we've offered him longer than he wants to commit to apparently. His father who also acts as his agent has stated that it will be sorted and the deal will go ahead, everything else is in place.

    I's not done just yet..

ASTON Villa boss Alex McLeish will make a last-ditch attempt to scupper Sunderland's pursuit of Seb Larsson by making an 11th-hour approach to the out-of-contract winger.

ASTON Villa boss Alex McLeish will make a last-ditch attempt to scupper Sunderland's pursuit of Seb Larsson by making an 11th-hour approach to the out-of-contract winger.

The Black Cats have been leading the chase for Larsson and have held discussions with the Sweden international and his representatives.

A move to the Stadium of Light appeared imminent when Larsson's father confirmed contractual discussions were well underway at the weekend.

A final agreement has not been reached however, with the two sides yet to agree on the length of the deal, and having been formally unveiled as Aston Villa's new manager yesterday, McLeish is hoping to make a dramatic late move of his own.

Westwood is a very good keeper. I liked the look of him when he was playing for Carlisle. Stepped up a league and looked good. He won't be coming to us to make up the numbers. He will feel that he can be the Number 1. He's good enough.
