Is it: POPE! POPE! POPE POPO POPE POPO. POPE! POPE! POPE POPO POPE POPO. POPE! POPE! POPE POPO POPE POPO. POPE POPE POPE POPE, POPE POPE POPE POPE, POPEPOPEPOPEPOPEPOPEPOPEPOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (To the tune of that Glenn Miller song)
Sadly Nick Pope couldnt get York City to Wembley in the Play-Offs but it certainly wasnt his fault by any means after a 0-0 draw in the 2nd Leg of the Play-Offs v Fleetwood tonight. It was mainly all York tonight so Pope didnt have much to do but when called upon he certainly showed that he'd remained alert throughout Firstly around 70mins he got down well to save from a Sarevic shot that was sneaking into the far corner (Yet Pope managed to get a hand to the ball to turn it round for a corner).. Secondly after coming up for a corner at the death he not only nearly scored yet with Fleetwood clean on goal he just managed to get back to stop a wayward shot that a fellow Fleetwood player was following up on and then finally Josh Morris (who beat Pope to League 2 Player of the Month for April) went one-on-one with the 'keeper yet once more Pope stood strong and managed to force the ball out for a throw-in. Based on the reports that Ben Hamer could be off to Leicester City would be more than happy with Pope as our No.1 next season
yep, he played well last night. deserved more from his efforts this season. i like that he's just a hard working kid. he'd do well for us, i just hope we dont destroy him by getting on his back.
